valencia waited for an answer from noah, but he just seemed to sit there at a loss for words. valencia rolled her eyes at the man and began to make her way over to the door of the office, ignoring how her heart was aching.

"oh, and by the way. i'm staying at blake's tonight." valencia opened the office door. noah opened his mouth to say something but before he could, valencia had already slammed the office door, storming out with scott following closely behind her.

noah sat at his desk, putting his head in his hand. he didn't know how to feel, he felt like a terrible father. but if what valencia and scott were saying was true, then why was it so hard for him to believe?

"malia, lydia and i are going to go look around canaan." scott informed valencia, walking out of the police station, trying to keep up with her. "they couldn't find anything about the place, but we know where it is and it could help lead us to stiles."

"i'll come," valencia told scott, not bothering to look back and instead continuing to walk fast. scott looked up from his phone to valencia, letting out heavy breaths from walking so quickly.

"um... about that." scott started to speak, causing valencia to stop in her tracks and spin around the face her best friend. valencia raised her eyebrow, crossing her arms over her chest, as if indicating for him to continue speaking. "you're not coming."

"what, why the hell not?" valencia asked confused, offended by the decision scott had made. "i think you're forgetting stiles is my brother, i'm coming with you!"

"val, i'm not risking you getting hurt again. you're recovering and you need to rest." scott looked at valencia with concern. he was being honest, he couldn't bare valencia getting hurt again, he couldn't. valencia went to protest against scott but he cut her off before she could. "val, please. stop pushing yourself, for me."

valencia stopped to think for a minute, she understood where scott was coming from. valencia looked down and nodded her head slightly. "fine. for you."

scott pulled valencia into a tight hug, resting his chin on the top of her head. a small sigh fell from scott's lip and let his eyes rest for a moment. "as soon as we're back from canaan, we'll come pick you up, okay? we'll tell you everything."

"please be safe, scott." valencia pulled away from the hug and scott looked down at the girl with a reassuring smile. scott held out his pinky and valencia giggled. everyone knew how much pinky promises meant to valencia. "promise?"

"promise." scott wrapped his pinky around valencia's, shaking her hand a little bit.

"i have been sat here all day, waiting for a text message to come through. but nothing!" valencia complained, growing impatient with her friends. "i mean, what if something bad has happened? i won't know because there's probably no service in canaan!"

"val, you and your friends are probably the strongest people i've ever met. i'm sure they're fine." blake told his little sister genuinely, dishing up some dinner for them and putting it on plates.

valencia smiled appreciatively at blake when he placed a plate of food down infront of her at the dinner table. "but we don't know a thing about canaan. we don't know who or what is there and we don't know the dangers. stiles sounded really panicked when we said we were gonna come find him."

"i don't know what to tell you," blake shrugged his shoulders and sat down beside her at the kitchen table. "all i can say is scott and them, they know what they're doing. they're smart, their brave. i'm sure the service is just bad."
