Last update for a little while. I need to concentrate on my other stories after mainly working on this one here, but I won't let you wait for too long don't worry :) x

On Sunday Harry and Louis went to the zoo with the kids to have a proper family day again after a while. Charlie and Ruby were having the time of their lives even after being there for the thousandth time, but they could never get enough seeing so many animals and they dragged their parents everywhere which practically turned into an endurance run throughout the property of 14ha.

Louis was keeping up with them with ease from his everyday practise, he even carried Ruby on his shoulders most of the time and was still running after Charlie who dragged him to every near enclosure, but Harry had a hard time panting already after not even half of the day. At some point he just let the three run ahead while he slumped down on a nearby bench.

"Get children, they said. It'll be fun, they said." He grumbled to himself. "Fun my ass."

"What's the matter, grumpy pants?" Louis appeared in front of him grinning before he plopped down next to him.

"My legs hurt, my lungs are about to collapse and I'm sweating like a fucking pig." Harry complained.

"Langu-" Louis started sternly but retreated quickly and cleared his throat scratching his neck. He pushed away the need to rebuke him and swallowed thickly. God, he had never thought it would be this hard already even with such a small thing. How should he possibly survive weeks, or months or even years? "Well...it was your idea going to the zoo. It's not like you didn't know what to expect." He chuckled, but he felt beyond awkward. By the looks of Harry's face he thought the exact same thing but he tried his best not to show it.

"Yeah, I still don't want to give up hope that this changes at some point. I mean, we come here at least once a month, how excited can someone be seeing the same stuff over and over again." Harry grumbled.

"They are children, what do you expect?" Louis laughed out. "They get excited about everything."

"True. Where even are they?" Harry frowned slightly worried.

"Over there." Louis pointed to the polar bear enclosure where Charlie and Ruby were glued to the safety glass watching two polar bears swimming around unbothered by the visitors.

"I hope they're tired when we get home. I don't know if I survive them being energetic and overtired today." Harry huffed.

"I'm sure they will. Let's pick up food on our way home and then we send them to take a shower, or even better a bath and I'm sure they'll fall into bed afterwards." Louis smiled.

"Hopefully you're right." Harry muttered.

"I'm always right." Louis grinned and got up. "Come on, we still have about four kilometers ahead of us." Harry just groaned but followed his husband who was already rushing towards their children.

Louis was right with his assumption when as soon as their bellies were filled, they were freshly bathed and their bags were packed for tomorrow Charlie and Ruby fell asleep in their beds although it was only six pm- not that Harry nor Louis complained.

While Harry tidied up the living room Louis went to the office to prepare a few things for the following week. When he was done and was about to pass Harry in the hallway he stopped.

"Is it alright if I go to the gym for a while or do you need help?" He asked.

"No, no. It's fine. You'd only be in my way anyway." Harry grinned.

"Wow, thanks." Louis snorted and went upstairs to get changed into shorts as usual.

He stopped in the hallway and put on his training shoes and then went to the basement to work out. He needed to get his head free otherwise he would burst. He didn't get off in a while now and not having any physical contact with Harry apart from a peck here and there or holding hands was driving him crazy, not even mentioning the abstinence of anything related to BDSM which was probably hardest for him. He wasn't sure if it was appropriate sleeping together again and it wasn't like he could just suggest it to Harry already cringing at the imagination of casually walking up to him and asking and neither him nor Harry intended anything. So he did what he always did when he had to get his mind off things that troubled him and pushed his body to its limits.
