Pain shot through my body as I tried to move. My eyes fluttered open at the sound of gunshots.

Xavier peered down at me, his face full of worry as he held me close to his chest.

My eyes darted behind his head and I noticed that there was a table behind him, shielding him and I from the stray bullets.

There was a small space between the table and the wall which allowed me to watch Kat and Xamira who were fighting off some of the guys in black masks.

I didn't know they could fight.

"Diego and the kids are safe, right?" Xamira asked Jordan as he ran towards them, slicing open a masked guy's arm who was in his way.

"Everyone who couldn't stay to fight, safely made it to the panic room" Jordan responded before roundhouse kicking a guy who came towards him.

I didn't know he could fight either.

"Fuck this" Kat cursed.

She tore off the lower part of her silver dress and kicked off her heels, a smug smile appearing on her face as the masked guys in front of her took a small step back.

"You bitches actually thought we wouldn't come prepared" She smirked, tossing Xamira the pistol that was in her thigh strap and twirling one in her hands.

"I'm so happy you're my girlfriend," Jordan cooed.

He pulled Kat in by her waist, capturing her lips in a kiss as she shot someone in the head, between his eyes.

It was scary how skilled she was with a gun. It was almost like she had done this before.

I turned my head back to Xavier who was clutching me closer to him than before.

"You're going to be okay" He kept repeating as he rocked me against him.

I wondered why he was acting like that. I tried to move again but pain filled my organs, making it practically impossible for me to move further.

My eyes trailed down my body, trying to find the source of the pain that I felt. My eyes widened as I stared at my hands - they were covered with blood.

My hands began to shake as I pulled them away from my stomach. There was a much darker red stain on my dress that seemed to grow larger and larger as more blood poured out of me.

Tears pooled at the corner of my eyes as I stared at my blood slowly flowing out of my body.

Memories of what happened came flooding into my head. I had noticed a shady figure, staring at Xavier as soon as we got to the first floor.

I decided to shrug it off and keep dancing with Xavier. I grabbed a drink from one of the waiters, and the rest of the guys as Sofia started talking.

I wasn't paying attention to her though, my eyes were fixed on the glass in my hands. Something was wrong with it.

The ice... it wasn't floating.

My eyes darted across the room, landing on Wyatt who leaned on the railing of the first floor, staring at a corner of the ball room.

Following his gaze, my eyes landed on two shady men who stood at the end of the ballroom, guns in their hands as they aimed at... XAVIER.

A gunshot ran through the room and without thinking twice, I pushed Xavier to the ground.

A sad smile made its way to my face as I watched more blood pour out of my stomach, slowly.

This was it. I was going to die.
