"Why the hell is this- this douche in my house?" Hopper yelled. He turned around to face Steve. "Why was he hiding? Where?" Hopper seemed angry. Not exactly because of what Steve thought. Hopper was angry that Billy might've hurt Steve. Forced him to do anything. He was worried, concerned mainly. Steve only blinked and stayed silent, El stood behind him. "Steve... why is... Billy here?" Hopper whispered now. His voice strangely calm. 
Steve knew that when El dated Mike, Hopper was extremely hard with Mike. Always yelling at him (so I made up my mind that before, Mike and El did date but then El just found out she didn't love Mike romantically and Mike had his great Bi/or gay awakening and found out he wasn't comfortable dating El anymore. They were both relieved that neither were upset and ended up still being friends.) Hopper was relieved when he heard that Mike broke up with El but El still met up with Mike so often that Hop was suspicious that they might've been together in secret. He still has that suspicion to this day but he didn't have any way to prove that they were. (He doesn't know that somethings going on between Mike and Will or El and Max because Hopper is Hopper) Steve remembered how El always complained to him about Hopper. So Steve knew Hopper would be upset seeing Billy here. He knew it. So instead. Only stayed quiet. "Steve-" Hopper had started up again when El stepped in front of Steve. 
"I brought him in. It wasn't Steve. I-it's almost Max's birthday. I needed to plan something for her and Billy wanted to help so we were gonna... plan together" El seemed unsure about this excuse but at the end she nodded as to  reassure herself. She looked up at Hop. "A-and I knew you'd be mad so I hid him here when I saw you coming in the morning" El continued. Steve was dead silent and only nodded at the end as to reassure Hopper. Hop looked over at Billy who, with a mischievous grin, waved again, before he turned to Steve. 
"Let me see your neck" Hop mumbled. A very confused face went on steve. "Wait- what?" Steve said, placing his hands on his hips. "Let me see your neck. That simple." Hopper muttered as he stepped closer to Steve. "Is that what you think happened? You think I was with Billy?" Steve sounded irritated as he tilted his head to the side, revealing his neck. Hopper put on no reaction. "You. Stand up." He pointed to Billy. 
And even Billy knew not to disobey Hop so he was up and on his feet in no time. 
"Same thing" Hop mumbled and Billy tilted his head. Of course there wasn't anything Hop was looking for. He only sighed. "Is it true? It's your sisters birthday?" He sounded tired now. "Max? Oh- oh yeah. Yeah it's in a week so we were planning what balloons to get her and... cake. Yeah." Billy nodded, trying to look as casual as he could. Hop really hadn't met Billy if he would believe that Billy actually would spend to buy Max balloons. Maybe a cake. But hell with balloons. 
Hop bunched the bridge of his nose before he sighed. When he opened his eyes again he put on his I'm-totally-not-stressed smile. "Okay. Okay! I'm too tired for this shit honestly so, tell your sister happy birthday and get the fuck out." Hop gestures to the door dramatically and waited silently for Billy to leave. Billy only looked at Steve before he sighed and started walking to the door. He was hoping to stay longer but... I guess not. He didn't even wake before he was out the door. "Alright Steve, let's sit down okay?" Hop said with the same smile, bringing Steve with him to the couch. El took the signal and left for her room. "Steve. Why was Billy here." Hop said one last time, sternly. He knew Steve couldn't lie for long. And if that Billy guy had done something to his son, he swore Billy would never see the light of Hawkins again. Maybe in all of Indiana. 
Steve sighed. 
"I-I... I wanted a few photos printed from my camera and so I called... Johnathan over" even now it hurt Steve to say that name. The name of someone he thought he knew so well. "B-but then Billy showed up- I had invited him before! He didn't just force himself here. So uhm... he came inside and... Johnathan started acting weird and my.... My anxiety got the best of me and I started having a I guess a... an anxiety attack... and Johnathan didn't help at all but.. but Billy did. El protected me though and made them both leave but I called Billy back in. H-he stayed and pushed Johnathan out... Johnathan didn't seem himself... I-I'm not sure about him but don't do anything to Will! He has nothing to do with his brother..." Steve quickly added. "A-and then Billy helped me through the attack. He calmed me down. I relaxed really quickly actually and the strange part is... I didn't have to use my medication to calm down like any other time! He successfully calmed me down without my pills! That hadn't happened before Hop! I made el and him dinner and he spent the night... he didn't do anything and though. We just... hugged... I cried a little from my overwhelming emotions and all of that crap but... he didn't do anything bad Hop! He was so sweet... I felt cared for with him. It was a different care though, different from yours. I was scared to look so vulnerable with him but... he helped. He really did Hopper. He helped" Steve found himself smiling softly. His heart felt warm and full of a strange fluttering. His stomach seemed to be invaded with butterflies. 
"Hm..." Hopper hummed. He looked at Steve and immediately recognized the look on the boy. The smile. The way his face lit up just talking about Billy. His eyes sparkling. "Do you mind if... we invite him over perhaps?" Hopper brought up. Steve turned to him and found himself smiling wider. "When?" 
"Tomorrow night?... talk to him... tell him that I owe him an... apology" Hopper jokingly made a sour face at the last word. Steve let out a giggle before he felt Hopper wrapping his arms around him. "He sounds special Steve. Maybe my Stevie boy is all grown up" Hopper chuckled and steve giggled again. 
"...maybe" steve sighed. 
(Hello!!! So yes, updates shall be once a week now! Sorry :( I just didn't think how much school would actually affect me. It's too exhausting. So once a week. I'm so sorry but I hope that's still good! Also, would y'all like an episode for Halloween where Steve takes the kiddo's out trick or treating and Billy tags along? It would also be El's first time trick or treating so Steve is forced to watch over them all this Halloween. And Billy will be the co-parent. And if you do want this episode, what would y'all want the characters to dress up as? Please give me suggestions because I don't know any group costume idea :') and then also give me a suggestion for what costume Steve and Billy should wear (I vote werewolf Billy!!) well, it's finally October! It is official spooky season!!!! What are YOU gonna dress up as for Halloween?)
