When Megatron walked in the lab, he and Saphira saw both Knockout and Breakdown in the room. Knockout was typing on a console, most likely the results of his research of the white energon. Saphira looked over and saw a vial full of liquid, white energon and she raised a curious eyebrow when she saw it, wondering what result the con had been able to find regarding the substance. She still thought the crystals were beautiful, but she knew that it was dangerous for her to touch.
Knockout turned around and widened his optics when he saw Megatron walking in and Saphira sitting on his shoulder. "You and Saphira must becoming more friendly, master," He said with a smirk on his face. "It is a shame we still will go through the with plan on using her to bait Prime at some point, I've actually come to like her."
"Me too." Breakdown nodded in agreement. "She isn't so bad, for a human."
Megatron grumbled something to himself, Saphira did wonder if he would change his mind about that given his admittance in his feelings, though he has not yet said if there was a change in his plan. He might not kill her, but he still might use her to lure Prime, and she did not want that. "I believe you have some information for us, Knockout. Please, do tell us what you discovered about white energon."
Knockout nodded and typed on the console to bring up the results on screen. "I tested the white energon on the blood samples I had to see how it would react. It reacted the same way, while the energon caused the cells in her blood to attack it, the energon bounced the cells off itself and attract molecules of the cells to it. I tested the liquified version, and still the same result. As you know, the energon also attacked her brain and influenced it to the point she believed she was in danger constantly. I am not sure what long-term effects it could have had on her body, but it wouldn't have been good."
Megatron stepped closer to the console, looking up at the monitor curiously. "Is that the only result you have for me, Knockout? That this white energon is nothing more than a poison to humans and useless to us?"
"Funny you should ask, the white energon is actually safe for humans," Knockout responded with a smile, surprising both Saphira and Megatron. "When I realized that direct contact with the human body and blood was the cause of this, I decided to see how it would react if a human were to ingest it. I was able to replicate the digestive system of the human body..."
"How did you manage to do that?" Saphira asked curiously, interrupting the medic and making him look at her with a slight frown. "You didn't exactly have a volunteer."
Breakdown and Knockout glance at each other for a moment. Breakdown smirked slightly. "I think it is best that you do not know. Knockout has studied your system well...replicating the system wasn't exactly his favourite hobby of the day."
Knockout nodded. "Yeah...the human digestive system is kind of...uggh!" He grimaced and shuddered at the thought. "Anyway, I found that the white energon didn't react badly when it touched the digestive enzymes. And to be honest, I thought maybe it was because it wasn't human blood. But when I connected a fresh sample of blood to the system and the energon was absorbed naturally into the cells, there was a completely opposite affect on the cells."
Megatron widened his optics, curious to know how that was possible. "So...it's poisonous on direct contact, but when ingested it is safe?"
Knockout nodded. "Yes. When the digested energon was absorbed into the cells, they actually seemed to strengthen. And by that, I mean, the cells actually came back to life. Not like how dark energon works, but in a way that would give Saphira her strength back, and even give her a new source of nutrition."
Saphira listened, intrigued by Knockout's discovery. "Um...but since you made up a digestive system, what makes you sure it would be like that?"
"Knockout trialled the white energon that way five times, the results were the same for each one," Breakdown explained proudly. "I think the white energon is exclusive for humans. We still haven't worked out why, though. We have been on this planet for several years and never once found white energon until recently."
