((This should just be titled "Gay Panic the book"))
The next morning, Simon woke up and temporarily forgot where he was.
He looked around as he slowly sat up and blinked the sleep out of his eyes, staring at the furniture and pack arranged neatly near the door.
Oh. Oh yea.
"You're awake"
Simon jumped, staring up at Eskel who seemed completely ready.
"...yea" Simon said, swallowing heavily, "I thought-"
"The more you slept, more I realized you needed it" Eskel said, his voice gruff but his tone kind, "get up though, we should head off"
Simon nodded and scrambled up. Getting ready by cleaning himself and his teeth before he and Eskel left the inn.
~!~!~!~
"Are you riding your horse?" Simon asked, raising an eyebrow and Eskel looked back,
"Issue?"
"No! None...just...should I walk or-"
"You can ride with me, least until we get to a friends farm, then we can borrow a horse for you"
Simon went impossibly paler as he thought of riding with Eskel.
Either way he'd be screwed. Sitting behind him and having to wrap his arms around his torso or sitting in front and having to lean against his strong chest while his arms were on either side and-
Simon swallowed,
"Okay" he said softly, deciding to sit behind Eskel, hesitantly taking the hand offered to help him get on the large black horse which thankfully seemed rather docile.
Eskel got up next, clicking his tongue and the horse trotted off. Simon immediately wrapping his arms around Eskel and sucking in a sharp breath.
"You okay back there?" The Witcher asked and Simon quickly nodded,
"Yea! Yea...fine, just...haven't been on a horse in a while"
"Mm.."
"...what's his name?"
"Scorpion"
That ends that conversation.
Simon just sighs, clinging onto Eskel while silently praying to the Gods that the trip to Eskel's friends house isn't that far.
