It was the time of night, the Mehta house was decorated with fairy lights and pink curtains and inside, it was decorated with pink flowers, lights, hanging beads and curtains. 
Avni and KK were sitting on the couch and others were standing there. They were looking at Neil who was standing near the door and was wearing specs. Avni smiled to see Neil. She was happiest to see him. Neela maa got angry to see Neil. 
Avni: Neil. 
KK looked at Avni. Avni got up and to see her standing, KK also got up and was looking at Avni. Riya was also present there. KK looked at Neil. Avni was waiting for Neil. She doesn't want to marry KK. She was doing that for her Neela maa because of Neela maa's health issues. Avni was looking at him. She was waiting for Neil's signal. Just one signal and she will run to Neil. Avni starts walking and was looking at Neil who was also looking at her. Neil can clearly see hope and love in Avni's eyes and Neil came there to break that hope and to wipe that love from her eyes.
Avni was coming to Neil and Neela maa was shocked to see that. She looked at KK and Ashish and then she looked at Avni. Neil saw Avni coming toward him and his heartbeat was increasing with every step that Avni was taking towards him. Neil clenched his fist and gulped. Avni was at some distance from him when she saw a lawyer and she stopped. She frowned to see the lawyer and then she looked at Neil who was looking at her. The lawyer came forward and Neil forwards his hand to the side and the lawyer gave the file to him. Avni was confusingly looking at them. Neil looked at Avni and took steps toward her. Ashish looked away because he knew what is going to happen. 
Flashback: 
Neil and Ashish were sitting in the cafe. 
Neil: I will break Avni's heart on her engagement day. 
Flashback ends. 
Neil was coming to Avni and flashes were roaming in his mind. 
Flashback: 
Neil: she will definitely wait for me on her engagement day and I will break her all hopes on that day. She will hate me when I will humiliate her. When I will give her divorce papers in front of all she will start hating me. 
Ashish thinks and Neil was looking at him. 
Flashback ends. 
Neil was coming to Avni. 
Neil in mind: I am sorry, my love. I am going to break your heart again please forgive me if possible. 
Neil came to Avni and he stood in front of her. 
Neil forwarded the file to Avni who was confused. Avni looked at the file and then she looked at Neil. 
Neil: hmm. 
Avni: what is this, Neil? 
Neil removed his specs and kept them in his shirt's pocket. Neil looked at Avni who was looking at her. 
Neil: your freedom. 
Avni frowned. Neil sighed Avni to take the file with attitude. Avni didn’t like that attitude, she thought, he came to stop the engagement but now she is thinking that he came to create a scene.
The Khanna family was looking at him and they didn’t like his behaviour. They looked at each other then they looked at Neil. Prakash was hell angry at Neil. Avni took the file from Neil and turned it to her. She was shocked to see the divorce papers and Neil’s signature on it. Avni was shocked. 
Neil: surprise, surprise. 
Avni looked at Neil who was smiling.
Neil: happy engagement.
