Beacon Hills High SchoolMalia and Leo show Lydia The Dread Doctors book they found. "The Dread Doctors by T.R. McCammon..." Lydia said. "What?" Malia asked. "I don't know. There's something about it..." Lydia said, staring at the cover. She looked at Leo and Malia. "Has anyone actually read it yet?" Lydia asked. "Just me, and I didn't understand any of it." Malia said. Lydia looked at Leo. "Haven't had the time. With trying to get rid of my migraine, and Corey in the hospital as well as trying to keep up in class, it doesn't leave a lot of time to read a book." Leo said. Lydia sighed. "We should probably all read it." Lydia said. "Kira's working on that." Malia said.
Kira is in the library making photocopies. "Stiles says he can't find anything on the author. He thinks it's a pen name." Leo said. Lydia flipped the book around and started reading the blurb. "In a small New England town, teenagers are taken in the night and buried alive. Days later, they emerge transformed, wreaking havoc and spreading terror, commanded by an ancient order of parascientists know only as the Dread Doctors." Lydia said, reading the summary of the book. She looked up at Malia and Leo. "Sounds vaguely familiar. How does it end?" Lydia said. "It doesn't. This is supposed to be Volume One." Malia said.
"Oh, let me guess-- there is no Volume Two?" Lydia asked. "I think we're living Volume Two." Malia said. "Well that's comforting." Leo said. He took his medication and swallowed it down with water. "Then maybe the real question is... Is this a novel or someone's prediction?" Lydia asked. "Knowing our luck, someone's prediction." Leo said. The bell rang and the three went into their math class. Malia turns around to give Lydia an annoyed look. "Why is your heart beating so fast?" Malia asked. "Look at this. Look at the "Acknowledgements" page." Lydia said, showing Malia a page in the book. "For providing scientific perspective and invaluable insight... this book is dedicated to Dr. Gabriel Valack." Do you know him?" Malia said. Leo looked at Lydia shocked. "Yeah. And We know where to find him." Leo said.
Eichen House
Valack has just rebandaged his third eye and turns around in his cell at Eichen House as though he's anticipating the pack's arrival.
Later ~ Stilinski House
Leo and Lydia were in Stiles' room. "Guys, I'm going with you." Stiles said. "I thought you said you were sick." Lydia said. "I'm slightly under the weather..." Stiles said. "You don't have to come. Malia's not going, either." Leo said. "Malia's not going because she knows that place is a nightmare asylum of insanity and death, okay? Let's go." Stiles said. As Stiles puts his hoodie on, he winces. Lydia and Leo notice. "What was that?" Lydia asked. "What was what?" Stiles asked. "You winced." Leo said. "I have a bad elbow." Stiles said. "It was your shoulder..." Lydia and Leo said. "Pain radiates. It does that." Stiles said. Leo rolled his eyes. "You are not going without me. You remember what happened to Deaton when he talked to Valack?" Stiles said.
"Scott and Kira are going to be there." Lydia said. "Okay, I'm not letting you go to a place where one of the orderlies almost killed you." Stiles said. "He almost killed you and Leo, too!" Lydia said. "And we're all still alive. See? Teamwork." Stiles said. Leo groaned. "Oh, god. If you come, will you shut up?" Leo asked. Stiles nodded. "Ok. Let's go then." Leo said, walking out of the room. "What's up with him?" Stiles asked. "Migraine." Lydia said. "LET'S GO!!!" Leo shouted.
Later ~ Eichen House
Leo, Lydia, Scott, Kira and Stiles are all stood outside Eichen. Lydia keeps buzzing to try to get in. "Hello? Anyone there?" Lydia asked into the intercom. Scott looked over at Stiles. "Are you going to be okay in there?" Scott asked. "Yeah... Why?" Stiles asked. "You just seem a little off..." Scott said. "I think we're all a little off." Stiles said. "Maybe some of us more than others..." Scott said, looking over at Kira. "Wait, what happened?" Stiles asked. "When the other Chimera, Lucas... When he came after us, I heard Kira say something in Japanese." Scott said. "That doesn't sound too bad." Stiles said. "She doesn't know any Japanese!" Scott said.
