Optimus immediately became curious. "Is this what you meant by additions?" He asked curiously with a smirk that made Saphira shudder.
"Maybe..." Saphira shrugged innocently and glanced at Ratchet, giving him a nod to let him know yo activate the bridge. "Though I figured a change of scenery would be considered additions."
Optimus looked at the bridge when he heard it being turned on and glanced at Ratchet. "Saphira managed to rope you in on setting this up, old friend? I am surprised, especially as you are not comfortable with the two of us being in a relationship."
Ratchet exhaled deeply. "As I have said, I want you both to be happy. And Saphira took the time over the last few days to do some research, and found somewhere special for you both to go to. I know it seems like I'm condoning your relationship, but I'm really just want you both to be happy. And I know there is nothing that I can do as your bond is strengthening."
Optimus was amused. He had not expected Ratchet to even do this, and yet his wall has melted enough so that he would allow for this to happen. Optimus turned to see Saphira waiting by the vortex. "I will contact you when we are ready to return."
Ratchet nodded. "As long as you don't interface and come back through telling me I need to deal with the damage. I know you will have a good time."
Both Optimus and Saphira gave each other a knowing look. They both didn't know what would happen if and when Ratchet finds out they have already interfaced, and continue to interface, but it didn't matter right now.
Optimus walked over to Saphira, looking down at her. "You definitely have taken me by surprise. It should be me doing this for you." She giggled at Optimus before her gestures. "Let's go, I want to see where you are taking us."
Saphira nodded and turned to walk into the vortex. "I know you will love it. I will love it too."
Optimus hummed softly as he walked behind her. He had no idea what plan Saphira had for them, but she had the intent on not returning for a few hours and he already guessed part of what she wanted to do. It made his spark warm, and the desire to go through with it was growing. As he walked through the bridge, he was met with a beautiful sight.
A golden, sandy beach lay before them. Behind them was a large cliff formation that spread along the beach and curved slightly, seemingly giving them a sense of privacy. There was no way up or down the cliff for humans, and the nearest road was a few miles inland, which meant they had all the privacy they could want. The sun was low, and the clouds in the sky were painted in red, orange and yellow. Optimus smiled, a beach sunset definitely was something he hadn't expected.
He glanced down and saw Saphira taking her shoes off and putting them into her small bag she bought with her. "How did you manage to find this place, Saphira?" He asked curiously and she looked up at him with a grin.
"A lot of time spent using Ratchet's satellites to find this particular place," Saphira said confidently. "When I was spending time with him, that's what I was doing. That is why your overprotectiveness did not bother me. I used the excuse of escaping with Ratchet to plan something like this. Mostly because it almost always seems like something gets in the way. And today, something almost did."
Optimus nodded in agreement. "I am sorry...perhaps I am also to blame..."
She shakes her head. "No you're not, Optimus. You are still fighting a war..." She turned away and spread her arms as she looked out at the ocean. "Your priority should be the war. And I am not going to get mad at you for it. After all, we still have each other."
Optimus found himself humbled by Saphira often. She seemed to really have a heart of gold. Optimus really couldn't have asked for a better sparkmate. "I feel really lucky to have you in my life, little moon. Even Elita never would have done this..." He exhaled a little as he thought about her. "I think if I knew you before Elita, I never would have fallen in love with her. You...I think, you have always meant to be my true sparkmate."
