Chapter 7: My territory!

                                    

                                          
It's 4 a.m. and Alexander was once again running in the woods. But this time he would meet up with Daisy to learn how to control his powers. When he arrived at the part of the woods near the river, where he healed her, he couldn't find Daisy. But he could smell her scent. "Daisy stop hiding! I can smell your perfume, so I know you're here!", he called out. The young lady didn't respond, instead she stayed quiet and when Alex had finally given up, she jumped out of a tree and landed right behind him. This startled him and he went to throw a punch as a reflex. Daisy dodged it and grinned. "For a wolf with superspeed, you're not that fast.", she said. "Well, that's why you're going to teach me.", Alex responded.
"Actually sir, I am training you to get your powers under control. Or did you forget what happened?", she asked. "No? That's what I thought. Now Alexander can you tell me what went through your mind back then?", Daisy asked him. "Is that necessary" "Yes because understanding your emotions is one of the most important things when it comes to your transformation. Especially when you lose your temper.", she explained.
"Okay fine. I felt like my whole world collapsed. I felt anger, revenge and sadness. I got outraged. It felt like I could punch through a whole cement wall. I could feel my blood pump through my veins, my heart was beating loud and so was everyone else's. I started to feel the pain of the transformation again and I wanted to stop it, but I just couldn't. Until I heard mom yell at me. "
"So, what did you notice first? Was it the blood pumping through your veins and your heart beating rapidly?", Daisy asked Alex. "Yes, I think." "Okay. Now here is what you're going to do, next time you notice it, focus on your heartbeat. You're going to listen to it and only focus on that and your breathing. You are going to keep doing that until you hear your heartbeat calm down. Do you understand?" 
"I understand. Now that we have that done, what else are we going to do?", Alex responded. 
"I'm going to teach you how to listen to one thing at a time. If you're going to need to focus on your heartbeat, than you'll have to be able to focus your hearing on one thing at the time. Okay so do you see that river? A little further from here, there is a waterfall. I want you to try to hear the water falling.", Daisy assigned him. Alex closed his eyes and started to use his super hearing. At first he could here Daisy's heart beating, birds in the trees, the flow of the river, some squirrels, stags and he could even hear the wind blowing through the tree branches. He was enjoying the calming sounds of the woods but then he remembered what he had to do. So, he first managed to block all the sounds except for the flowing river. Although he has been in the forest so many times, he only went to the waterfall ones. But he still remembered where it was. Alexander in pictured the distance from the river to the waterfall and in just ten seconds he could hear the water falling down.
"Daisy, I can hear it!", he exclaimed loudly in excitement. "Good job. Now close your eyes again. I'm going to hide somewhere, and you have to try to find me by listening to my heartbeat.", Daisy said. The blond girl made sure his eyes were closed and then proceeded to go deeper into woods. She climbed into a tree and sat on a branch since she didn't want to stand the whole time she had to wait. After ten minute she started wondering if she went too far into the woods and that he couldn't find her. But she was quick to tell herself that he knows the woods better than her and that he'll find her. She wasn't wrong, except he didn't find her. Daisy decided to go back but when she got closer, she could hear growling.
"Alex! What is happening?", she asked. "I was trying to find you, until I heard dozens of heartbeats and footsteps coming my way. All of a sudden these wolfs come to claim the woods. Saying that it's their territory. Daisy if it's anyone's territory it's mine! It was my parent's and now it's mine!", Alex explained. He gave an angry look at the pack. While Daisy was processing what she just heard, she realized that the pack was her dad's. "Wait. Uhm this is actually my pack. Alex, can I talk to you for a moment? And the rest of you don't go anywhere."
Daisy and Alexander walked away from the group, going further into the woods.
"Daisy what is going on!", Alex practically yelled at her.
"Alex please don't hate me! Listen You know how I told you about your mother being in my pack, well a couple weeks before you transformed, she could sense that you were close to your first transformation. She really wanted to go to you and help out but it would have been too dangerous so my dad sent me. I'm here because I needed to train you and get you back to the pack to get to know your mom and-"
"And what? Let me become a part of something I never asked for?"
"What no! Alex what's with you! I told your sister that I would never let you get taken away from your family here! I know how much you mean to them and they mean to you! And if you would let me finish my sentences than I would've told you that my pack needs your help to find a way to hide from the hunters!", Daisy yelled back at him, as she was getting tired of his sudden attitude.
"But why are they even here? And why are they trying to claim my territory?", he asked. "Alex I think my dad didn't know you were Lydia's son otherwise he wouldn't have reacted like this. Now we better get back and sort this out. And Alex before we go back, please be nice. They are still my family and they're in danger so we have to keep them save. It's what we wolfs do."
Alex wasn't very pleased with the whole situation but he decided to try and be nice, only because Daisy cares about them and his mother is in the pack. So he just nodded and the two of them walked back to the stranded wolfs. But when they got back, they were all gone, except for one of the cubs who was laying on the ground looking unconscious. And there laid a little piece of a silver bullet on the ground next to him...
