school just got out and im in the car with nini, whos looking perfect as always. I can tell im staring at her but i just can't stop. she's the most gorgeous human being ever created. 

"ummmm, ricky?" "uh yeah?" "you gonna start driving?" "oh, uh yeah." 

as I start the car, nini plugs her phone into the car stereo, resuming the happier than ever album we were listening to this morning. 

"I don't want it, and I don't want to want you. but in my dreams I seem to be more honest, and I must admit you've been in quite a few." 

oh great. why'd you have to write such relatable lyrics billie? 

"halley's comet comes around more than I do" I hear nini singing along to the car stereo 

"but you're all it takes for me to break a promise" I join in

~Nini's pov~ 

me and ricky are lying on her bed scrolling through tiktok. 

"ok, i have a question" i say, closing my phone and setting it on the bed. "yeah?" "what were you really writing in your notebook earlier?" "what do you mean?" he knows exactly what i mean. "c'mon. you think I'd believe your that defensive about algebra?" "I made a lot of mistakes okay!" "c'mon just tell me!" "no!" 

I know he's not gonna tell me himself, so I get up and grab his backpack, but he rushes over and snatches it out of my hands, and we start wrestling for it. 

I finally give up cuz its no use. even if I get it, he's just gonna grab it from me again. 

~ricky's pov~ 

"who does ricky bowen have a crush onnnnn?" 

shit shit shit shit shit shit 

"what?! who says I have a crush!" "your face says it" "I don't have a crush" that's a lie... 

"c'mon! just tell me!" 

i know she's not gonna stop bugging me about this, so I say "ok fine I have a crush on someone" "tell me tell me tell meeeee" "isa" "isa? as in like isabel?" "yeahhhh" noooo. "oh my fucking God that's insane!" you have no idea.... 

a/n 

so isabel (from seven minutes in heaven in chapter 4) was mentioned in this chapter. anyways jenna ortega is her face claim. she's gonna play a bigger role in the story later on in the book.
