The weeks leading up to Halloween flew by so fast, one minute I was talking to Scorpius about what he wanted to be, the next I was shopping for decorations and costumes.

He'd decided he wanted to go as a wolf and of course Draco had to be the same. I beamed at them as they stood by the door dressed at wolves. Scorpius was beaming and Draco was scowling. It was quite amusing. Whenever Scorpius looked at his father, Draco beamed down at him. He really was a good dad.

"I shall be staying at my house as planned tonight, is there anything you need me to do before I leave?" I asked as I readjusted Scorpius's tie.

"Oh no Miss Y/L/N, please stay here tonight, I need you to see all the sweets I collect"

I smiled and placed a hand onto his shoulder, "I will check them over first thing tomorrow morning my love"

His face fell and my heart broke. I hated him being sad, we'd gotten so close the last few weeks, I felt like a second mother to him. I loved him deeply and would do anything to protect him.

"I have a friend visiting so need to go home for that," Scorpius threw daggers at Draco with his eyes. I tried not to laugh as his little face contorted with anger. "I promise I shall be back first thing tomorrow" I reassured him softly.

"Why can't your friend stay here? Daddy has sleep overs all the time"

I quickly looked away, trying to hide the smirk that crept along my lips, Draco grabbed Scorpius by the shoulder and bent down to him, "son, this is her place of work, her personal life should remain personal"

"So I'm just work?" He asked sadly, I watched as tears filled his grey eyes, eyes so much like his father.

I placed my hands onto his shoulders quickly, I squeezed gently as I whispered, "absolutely not, you are my little solider and I love you dearly, I can cancel my friend if it means that much to you, you always come first"

I wiped his cheek as a tear slipped down his face, Draco shifted uncomfortably beside us.

"Your friend- he may stay" he said slowly, Scorpius beamed at his father but I knew he hated the idea and was only doing this to please his son. It was sweet to see but if I was honest, I wanted to get back to my own place. I missed it.

Scorpius threw his arms around his dad, "thank you daddy, see Miss Y/L/N your friend can have a sleep over!"

I smiled and kissed his forehead, "now hurry, before all the sweets and chocolate run out!"

Scorpius gasped dramatically and pulled his father by the sleeve. Draco stared at me once more before being pulled out into the cold night.

I ran up the stairs two at a time and threw myself into my bedroom, I needed to change out of my 'uniform' I grabbed a hoodie and pair of jeans and threw them on quickly, I had less than five minutes to get back home to meet Neville. The Malfoy boys had taken longer than expected to leave for their trick or treating.

I slipped on a pair of trainers and rushed back down the stairs. I leapt down the last three and made it to the fireplace with one minute to spare. I stepped inside and called for my home. With a pull that made my heart flutter, I was pulled back to my own little home.

I stepped out of the fire just at it erupted into bright green flames again, I spun around and came face to face with Neville. I couldn't help but beam at him. He was stood wearing a pair of jeans, a hoodie similar to my own and large hiking boots.

We'd planned on having a walk in the neighbourhood to watch the kids run around having fun, they were setting up stalls at different points in the streets with hot coco and toffee apples.
