Becky's POV

Sometimes when you are too happy, you become suspicious about yourself because you constantly invalidate your feelings. It feels like happiness was too good to be true. In my case, something unpleasant always prevents me from making me feel joyful.

And that feeling came true when my mother broke the news to me about moving back to the UK. She also said it would be a good opportunity for me to continue studying after completing my degree. Since it's my final semester before I graduate, it makes sense for her to suggest the idea, and I have thought about it at some point.

But moving to the UK was so uncalled for in my future plan. The news was too sudden for me to comprehend, and the first thought came into my mind was Freen. How can I imagine myself without her by my side...

I was against my mom's idea of moving to another country. "Why do we have to relocate? I could take my master's in Thailand." I was displeased by the thought of moving away from Freen.

"Beck, please be understandable. It's not just because of you that your father and I had been planning on moving to the UK. Your father had a job offer to be the Thailand ambassador there. Plus, the contract is only for 3-5 years, and then we can return here." She tried to explain the reason for moving.

"5 years is way too long, mother!" I retaliated with tears running down my cheeks. I don't understand why my mom thinks it was a good idea to separate me from Freen that long. Doesn't she know how close I am to her?

"I have to go, bye, mother," I was dismayed by the new information. I needed to tell the news to Freen and see what she had to say about it.

...

Once I reached Freen's apartment, I saw her reading a book while lying on the couch. She was concentrating on her reading that she didn't notice my presence. And so, I slowly reached up to her from the back and scared her, causing her to jumpscares.

"Beck!! Why do you have to startle me like this?" She is jokingly scolding me.

"Oops, sorry, BB," I tried to make her feel better and kissed her forehead. Following our banter, the most dreading moment is finally coming, and I hate it.

I don't know where to begin to start the conversation. However, sooner or later, I will have to tell the news to Freen whether I like it or not. "Emm, Freen, can we talk about something?" I brought it to her attention.

"Sure, what is it?" She is now 100% concentrated on my face and casually playing with my hands.

"My mom just told me that I will be moving to the UK after I finish my degree, and I will be there for about 3-5 years." I was waiting for her reaction.

What's worse, I could definitely see her having mixed feelings about it. "Oh... I see. Are you planning on going?" She wants to double-check my decision.

"Ask me to stay, please? I can't bear to separate from you that long..." I begged Freen and hugged her as I was already scared just by thinking of parting with her.

"Then you can stay whenever you want. We could spend time together... and have a date..." Freen uttered her thoughts, but I feel like she's thinking elsewhere and not focusing on my request to stay.
