It was a cloudy day in National City when Kara Danvers was out to get some groceries. Since she only needed a few things, she decided to walk there. It takes her only 5 minutes anyway. Therefore, she had to walk along a street where there were some shops like a hairstylist, a bakery, a bookstore, a perfumery, and many more. You could even identify which shop you're walking by only by the smell coming out of the doors.

On this early afternoon, there weren't many people on the way.

Kara was strolling down the street, – lost in thought –, when suddenly there appeared a man, running in her direction. His clothes were all black. Something in her said that there would happen something bad soon. She halted and stood there frozen, waiting for what will come. But the man didn't come to Kara but he ran up to a woman, who was walking in front of her. This woman was looking at the shop windows and didn't foresee what happened next. The man bumped into her and pushed her so hard, that with a loud shriek she fell to the ground. The man snatched away the purse, which a moment before was hanging over her shoulder, and tried to flee with it.

Kara didn't even think about what she was doing, she just did. She stepped in the man's way, unconscious that she could get hurt. He was so surprised, that he let go of the purse and rushed away. Kara didn't try to follow him, because she knew she wouldn't have a chance to get him. She just looked after him. "Shame on you," she shouted.

She grabbed the purse and turned around, finding the woman still sitting on the ground. Walking up to her, she saw shock written on her face. Kara stopped in front of her to kneel down slowly and check if she was okay. Tears were running down the woman's cheeks. When she started sobbing, Kara didn't know what to do so she just tried to calm the upset woman down a bit by rubbing her shoulder. That was when she realized what a beautiful woman was crying in front of her. Pale skin, dark brown hair in a ponytail, bright green eyes, and a sharp jawline. She was wearing a dark red coat, over which there was a grey scarf to black jeans and sneakers.

She must have drifted off a bit because now the woman tried to get her attention by clearing her throat. Kara's cheeks turned red with embarrassment. She apologized, even if the woman surely didn't know for what.

Kara held out her hand to help the other get up. She shyly took it, looked into Kara's eyes, and thanked her sincerely. Before letting go of the hand, with a trembling voice the dark-haired asked Kara to walk her home. She said she was afraid of being alone now. Kara wasn't expecting something like that but of course, said yes. If something like that would've happened to her, she'd be glad if somebody would be with her afterward.

She first wanted to assure herself, that the shocked woman was okay and didn't get hurt because of the fall. Perhaps she didn't feel any pain because of the adrenaline that came up in her. "Everything is okay. I just want to go home," the woman replied as if she knew what Kara was thinking. Kara hung the purse over her shoulder as they started walking.

While walking to the woman's place side to side, there was no conversation between them, but that was okay for both of them. The only words spoken were from the woman giving Kara the directions to her home. The rest of the time it was silent.

They reached the front door of the dark-haired's house. Before even opening the door, Kara was already saying goodbye. "Get some rest, you're safe now!" She assumed the woman wouldn't need her anymore since she was at home now. But to her surprise, she wanted Kara, to go in with her.

They took off their coats and hung them up in a wardrobe. Kara also handed over the purse. "We can sit down somewhere? In my living room?" the woman asked hesitantly. "Yeah, sure."

When they arrived in the living room, Kara's jaw dropped, which she tried to hide. There was placed a huge black sofa in the middle of the room. A low table with a fluffy white carpet underneath was standing in front of it. On the wall opposite the sofa hung a big TV screen. Next to it, there were some shelves with many books, big collections of different DVDs and stacked-up board games in it. All around the room, there were puzzles in frames on the wall.
