It was in the afternoon and the pups have came back from a serious fire problem that happend on Jake's Mountain 
Ryder breathe in relief 
"well-done pups that were not easy for all of you. And I know most of our rescues are getting a bit more serious but you all handle yourself well" 
Ryder announced to them as they all wind down 
"Man I'm exhausted from that," the German Shepherd said as he laid down by a tree 
As he felt something nuzzle up against him 
It was his girlfriend skye, the two have been in a relationship for a very long time and have been spending most of their time together 
"You can say that but I'm fully dirty" 
Skye cared how she looked and being covered by smoke and ash she felt unpleasant with it all over her fur 
"Hey love I'll be back I'm heading to Katies to get cleaned," she said 
The two share a kiss before she takes off with her pup pack to katies 
Chase then closes his eyes for a bit until he hears a familiar voice 
"Relaxing arent we chase?" 
As he opens his eyes he sees his best friend standing over him 
"Yes I am" he replied 
Marshall lays down as well 
"Well, I can't blame you, fighting this fire was a wild one, more dangerous than usual" 
Marshall has noticed these past rescues have been more serious and it felt like every mission was getting more dangerous than the one before 
"But at least we're all ok, that's what matters " he smiled 
"Yeah but still it got me thinking about something"
"Something or do you mean someone?" With a smug look on his face 
"Ok don't give me that look," he said back 
"What I don't know what you mean chase?" With sarcastic tone 
Marshall knew chase and skye had been dating for a long time and were to the point in their relationship for the next big step 
"Ok look I know our recent rescue has not been the safest, but I'm going to ask skye to marry me tomorrow. It's because I love her with all my heart and I want to take the next step. In our relationship before something bad happen on a mission"
To which his best friend is ecstatic to hear 
"Wait!? Are you serious chase are you really going to do it!" He excitedly waited for him to respond
"Yeah I'm sure and I already bought the ring" he whispered
"Oh where is it" 
"I hide it away for now because I could not keep it in my pup house since skye and I sleep together" 
"I see why you want to marry her but you don't have to worry chase. As long we all have each other's backs were going to be fine" marshall calmly said to his friend
"I know marshall but better be safe just in case" he winked 
"But for real did you hide that ring well you know how skye is" marshall let out 
"I sure did," he told 
Skye always had a secret side of snooping around In other people's lives when they weren't around 
Such as finding out that Zuma and ella were dating in secret as well rocky has been sneaking away from the group to meet up with gasket to discuss their love for building and inventing 
"Makes sense don't want to ruin the surprise" he shrugged 
"Yeah so please don't tell" chase begged his friend he knew marshall has a hard time keeping secrets
