I awoke and scrunched up my face, the sun was blinding me through my open curtains I'd forgotten to close the night before.
I stretched and groaned, my body aching from falling asleep on the sofa. I walked slowly into my kitchen and turned my coffee machine on.
A soft hoot at my window alerted me of an owl, I opened it carefully and it slipped inside. It was a beautiful brown and black barn owl. It had a small letter attached to its leg and I took it off carefully. I offered it a drink which it didn't take, instead it hooted and flew straight out my window.
Okay then, I thought. I grabbed my coffee and sat at my little table once more, I sipped it carefully and smiled as the steaming hot coffee slid down my throat. I placed it carefully onto my coaster and opened my letter. It was a generic letter,
Dear Y/N,
I am pleased to inform you that you have been offered an interview at The Malfoy Manor for nine am on the second of September.
The floo will be open for your arrival.
Yours,
Mr MalfoyI gasped and looked at my clock on the wall, it was eight thirty. I had thirty minutes to be ready and at Malfoy's.
I jumped to my feet and rushed to my bathroom, I didn't have time to shower and I looked a mess. I ran a brush through my mop of blonde hair and tied it high up on my head. That would have to do.
I quickly washed my body in the sink, hoping that would be enough and put a bit of make up on. I couldn't do much because it was already fifteen until my interview.
I dashed into my bedroom and threw open my wardrobe door. I groaned. I had no idea what I could wear, I hadn't had an interview in seven years!
I threw clothes onto my bed sorting through as I went.
I ended up deciding on a simple black skirt with a slight slit up the side and a cream top that I tucking into my skirt.
I looked at myself in my full-length mirror and whimpered. I'd messed my hair up rushing around. I tried to flatten it best I could and dashed back to my kitchen. I grabbed my letter off the table and went to my fireplace.
I stood shaking for a moment, inhaling and exhaling deeply, hoping to steady my beating heart. I grabbed the powder I'd need to get to me The Malfoy Manor and stepped into the empty grate. With shaking fingers, I let the powder fall and called Malfoy Manor in a clear soft voice.
I felt the usual pull of my hips and a whooshing as the magic pulled me from my home.
With a blink of an eye I had arrived at what I assumed to be Malfoy's home.
A small creature stood waiting for me, large blue eyes unblinking. It was a house elf. I didn't own one but I knew what it was straight away.
She wore a small pillow case over her small body and a small belt around her waist. She had a lopsided bow atop her head. Her huge ears hung low behind her back.
"Miss Y/L/N you be late!" Her shrill voice squeaked.
I looked at the clock over the fireplace behind me to see it was exactly nine am.
"You was due thirty seconds ago Miss, Master Malfoy doesn't wait, please hurry" her small feet shuffled forward and out of the room. We walked down a dimly lit hallway to the end where a large oak door stood open slightly.
She placed both her hands onto the wood and heaved with all her might. I had the urge to help but knew I wasn't meant to so I waited patiently whilst the wood creaked open.
