(One month later...)

(Brittany's POV)

"..I am sorry Jax, you still aren't strong enough to undergo the surgery. I think you really need to consider the option of chemo. The longer we leave this, the more threat the mass poses of becoming more and more dangerous and inoperable." Arizona breaks the news to me and Jax. It's been a month and he has barely put on any weight. In fact, he seems to be getting a little worse day by day, but he won't see reason. "Jax, why don't you just think about it? You could be doing yourself more damage by waiting." I totally get and appreciate that this is fully his decision, but it's hard as a bystander to see someone you care about so much just waste away, especially when there is something that could be done. "I want to talk with Santana." Jax demands. "That isn't possible" Arizona explains. "Why not!? She is the head of my case!" Jax begins to get agitated. "Babe..." Jax sweeps his bed table and everything on it in anger. "Dr Lopez is away." Arizona explains. "Away!?" he spits. "Babe, she has gone on holiday..." this seems to make him angrier. "I HAVE A FUCKING TUMOUR ON MY BRAIN AND SHE IS ON HOLIDAY!"

Jax's mood swings have become more frequent and wilder over the last 4 weeks. The doctors say it could be to do with the tumour growing and suppressing the part that controls his emotions. "Arizona, can you give us a minute please?" Arizona happily obliges, she practically sprints to the door to get out the room. "Jax..." he puts his index finger up to me. "Don't even defend her..." I can see his eyes well up as he is overcome with emotion. "I am not defending her, I just...I just want you to consider the chemo and radiotherapy. Please." I beg him, my own tears threatening to appear. "I don't understand why you won't." I slump down in the chair defeatedly. "There is a likelihood I will be going through this again in 10, 20 or 30 years time, they only shrink the tumour. It never really goes. I want this gone and over and done with. That's it." he says, so sure of this answer. "Can you not see it's killing you in the meantime! You have lost weight when you're meant to be gaining it. Your mood swings are almost out of control, you just look so...frail!" I break, my voice cracks.

(Santana's POV)

I have decided to take a last minute vacation to The Maldives. I need some time away from the hustle and bustle of my normal life. I asked Grace to come with me. We have actually been doing really well, plenty of date nights and lady kisses, but we still haven't 'done the deed' as of yet. Grace is like a young teenage guy, hormones are in overdrive and her hands are always trying to sneak into my pants or shirt at any given moment. But she get's it, she is being as patient as she can, which doesn't go unappreciated.

"You should really go and swim in the ocean, it's just like a warm bath." Grace walks up our private beach to where I am lay on a lounger. She leans over me, water dripping onto me as she gives me a sweet kiss. "Hmm you taste salty." I give her a mischievous grin. "Wanky" she comments. "Hey! That's my line" I slap her ass as she walks back into our villa. I follow her inside, watching her strip down naked to change into a dry bikini. "You look incredible." I suddenly go shy and bashful at what I just admitted out loud, it was meant to be said in my head. "Not too bad yourself." Grace winks at me, she walks over and pushes be back down onto the couch as she straddles my lap. I run my hands up and down her thighs as she leans in, nibbling along my jawline. Our hands wander up and down each others bodies, but our make-out session is interrupted by the buzzing of my phone.

I pull it from the cleavage of my bikini. "It's Arizona." I say, thinking Grace would stop the assault on my neck. "Answer it then." she says between each kiss. "H-Hi" I say, my voice getting caught in my throat as Grace sucks on my pulse point. "Hi, how's the Maldives?" Arizona asks being overly friendly. "It was going great until you called...no offence." I am finding it hard to concentrate, Grace has shuffled herself down my body and is now sucking, biting and licking lightly over my chest, I can feel my nipples harden. "None taken. Look it's about Jax." And just by the very mention of that name, my libedo is killed. I shuffle Grace off me and I take my phone call outside. "Really? You're ringing me when I am in the Maldives, about him!?" I exclaim. I close the sliding door so Grace doesn't hear this conversation, she will kill me if she knows I am talking about work.
