A/N: I just had to repost this, idk if my phone tweaked or if my laptop didn't sync with my phone when I was originally writing the chap, but from my side it looked like I accidentally published it incompleted like a dumbass! My memory is so bad, if it wasn't finished my bad for posting it unfinished if it was... I'm still a dumbass LMFAOO.

Michi watched as his breakfast grew cold, anticipating what was going to happen any minute from now. His fingers drummed against the counter anxiously. The apartment was a lot less lively than it was last night, his roommates too hungover to move from their bedrooms. Michi couldn't sleep the entire night and ended up cleaning the entire place after everyone left. There was nothing else he could do in that moment.

A knock on his door grabbed his attention, his breath hitched as a million thoughts ran through his head. He didn't jump back twice for all of this to happen. He didn't mean whatever happened last night. Michi dragged his feet to the door, cracking it open slightly and seeing Y/n standing there.

She wore an oversized hoodie, her arms crossed over her chest as she raised an eyebrow at him.

"So we gonna talk like this or are you gonna open the door Hanagaki?"

"I-I'm sorry," he opened the door fully, inviting her inside. Y/n walked inside the apartment and sat down on the stool in the kitchen. Takemichi sighed before shutting the door and taking the seat across from Y/n.

"So. Last night?"

"I'm sor-"

"You know what? Save it Takemichi. You know what? I don't get you. I don't fucking understand you whatsoever. You tell me you wanna try this, you tell me you wanna make up for all the shit that has happened before, you get fucking jealous over other assholes and then you have the absolute fucking audacity to be with your ex girlfriend last night? With our fucking picture ripped up in the trash can?"

"I didn't rip it, that wasn't me. And I drank too much, I fucked up I'm sorry."

"Sorry is such an empty word coming from your goddamn mouth Hanagaki. If you love her be with her. Why the fuck are you wasting my time anyway If you're just gonna entertain her?"

"It's not like that Y/n, I seriously want to-"

"SHUT UP!"  Y/n picked up an empty glass from the coffee table and threw it at the wall shattering it into pieces. Takemichi's eyes widened, his body flinching at the sound of the glass smashing into pieces. He looked over to Y/n whose face was burning in anger, while she bit her lip back anxiously. Standing up to her feet she frantically walked over to the shards of glass picking up the bigger pieces with her hands.

"I'm sorry I just got angry and-"

"Don't pick that up with your bare hands are you crazy?!" Takemichi got up and got a broom and a dustpan sweeping up the small shards of glass. He threw out the shards he had swept up and set the broom and dustpan down and brought the garbage over to Y/n who threw out the bigger pieces she had picked up.

"I should go."

"We're not done talking Y/n."

"Yes the fuck we are. Stop playing with my goddamn heart Takemichi. For so long it felt like I didn't have one, then you came into the picture and made me feel shit. Fuck why did it have to be you?"

The girl sighed before heading into the restroom and washing off her hands. Michi stared off into the distance stuck in his thoughts. What was the point of him leaping if he was gonna continue to make dumb decisions to ruin all the progress he had made? He liked her. No. Takemichi loved her. He knew he loved Y/n, and maybe if he had been with her first none of this would have ever happened and she would have lived a different life.

Walking to the bathroom and leaning against the doorway, Michi made eye contact with Y/n as she glared at him through the mirror.

"Michi, I've opened up to you. Yet you can't even be honest with me. This shit is really fucking weird. Why make me feel like I matter then link right back up with Hina?"

"Y/n genuinely it wasn't on purpose but I know I messed up."

"Yeah. You did. I can't do this anymore. Thanks for whatever, but please just leave me alone."

"I-I can't!"

"And why the fuck not?"

"Because if I do, you'll end up hurt! I don't want you to be hurt and do something dumb in the future."

"And what exactly would you know bout my future Michi?"

His eyes widened at the girl's genuine question. She obviously didn't know, but Takemichi thought about why he couldn't tell her his biggest secret. Everyone else around them had known except for her. Maybe I should.

"Actually-"

"Save it. I'm over this Hanagaki."

"W-Wait. If you're going to leave.. Just promise me you'll be happy."

"And what do you know about my happiness?"

Y/n shoved passed Takemichi, leaving the apartment and slamming the door on the way out. Michi stood in the bathroom staring at himself in the mirror. It was completely silent, yet for some reason it felt as if Takemichi could hear his heart shatter into pieces. A miserable feeling washed over him, his eyes brimming with tears slowly. How badly did he just fuck this up? Maybe him being with Y/n was just a fluke. Maybe there was only one future where their relationship was existent and instead of just living in it, he fucked it up. He couldn't stand the feeling in his stomach. But if he chased after her and hurt her again, he'd drag everyone else into it and continue this toxic cycle of making her happy than tearing her down.

Shutting off the bathroom light and heading out the apartment, Takemichi headed off to find Naoto. Y/n deserved a future without Takemichi in it, and going back to where he belongs made the most sense. Let things play out the way that they're supposed to for once.

Meanwhile

Mikey yawned as he finished washing the rest of the dishes left in his sink. He frustratingly stared into the stainless steel sink that was now emptied, and sighed. Takemichi single handedly just ruined any chances of a healthy relationship in Y/n's life. Mikey felt like a hypocrite for expecting Takemichi to open up and be that person for her, when even he couldn't step up to the plate. He held his head in his hands, his brain feeling as if it was on fire.

Go away, go away, go away.

Not now. Please not now.

Mikey struggled against his thoughts. He worked so hard and came so far at controlling his impulses, but right now it felt like his lungs were pinched and he was losing air. He gasped, clutching his chest now hyperventilating against his thoughts. Suddenly, loud banging was heard at his front door. He stared at the knob wishing whoever the fuck was there would just go away. He couldn't let them see him like this, and he knew he'd snap as soon as he opened the door.

"Go the fuck away!"

"Mikey? Manjiro open the door!"

His eyes widened hearing the frantic voice on the other side. He held his breath as he rushed over and unlocked the door pulling it open. His blank gaze landed on Y/n's redden face, her eyes swollen as she anxiously bit her lip.

Something snapped as soon as he saw her face. His eyes squeezed shut before he yanked Y/n inside by her wrists, slammed the door behind her and pulled her into his bare chest.

You're okay. You're going to be okay. She's here.

The voice in his head was replaced with hers as the words repeated over and over, Mikey's heart rate returning to normal as he slowly breathed in the girl's scent and held her to his body tighter than before.
