Star stood infront of the soma estate. Welp here i am. Another visit to the soma compound. Star shook her head. Alright stop being a whiny baby. Let's go! Star said in her mind with a cocky smirk on her face. But as soon as her foot was about to step in she stopped mid way whimpering. Yeah no way in hell. I'm too scared! I'll go take another lap to calm myself down. I just need a bit more time. Star said in a shaky voice running down the stairs taking another lap. As for why i'm here in the first place, it all started with a conversation at school. Flash back Uo-chan! Uotani looked up at tohru while siping on some milk. Is it really true? Did you quit all of your part-time jobs and get a new one? Tohru asked while hana and star stood beside her. Sure did. I'm at a restaurant now. Uotani said smiling at them. Um, but if you're working somewhere else, then– yeah, the chances of me ever bumping into him again are slim to none. It's a big change, but... i felt like i was going crazy. Whenever a customer came in, i'd hope it was him. It just wasn't like me. I mean, since when do i act like a lovesick puppy? Guess i couldn't take being on edge all the time anymore, ya know? Uotain asked making tohru frown. If you knew his name, you could track him down. Hana said. Oh, my bad. I really didn't tell you? His name's kureno. Uotani said making star gasp. Wait... kureno? Uotani,hana, and tohru look at star as she spoke. Do you mean... kureno soma? Star asked. Making uotani's eyes widen. She shot up from her seat grabing star's shoulders. You know him?! Uotani started shaking star making her dizzy. Seriuosuly?! Soma, like kyon's family?! What was he like?! Where'd you meet him?! Talk! Right now! Uotani shouted still shaking star. I met him during summer break at the soma vacation house. It was just for a second, though. Tall and handsome, with pretty brown hair and eyes? I guess i'd say he was cool and collected. Star mumbled out. Uotani let go of star. Nah, you've got a different guy. The kureno that i know is a total space cadet. He wouldn't realize if he stepped in dog crap. Uotani said imaging kureno with a smile on his face. Arisa, was that the best example you could come up with? Hana asked. You could be wrong. Surely there's still a chance they're the same person. Isn't it at least worth finding out? Maybe i could ask around and see if he's– no. star was taken back by uotani. Don't bother, 'kay? I'm sure it's not him. Sorry for whining about it. And thanks. Uotani said with a closed eye smile. Fine if that's what you want i won't ask. Star said. Later that day At shiugre's house Kureno? Don't really know much about him, either. I can tell you that he's akito's assistant, but that's pretty much all the info i've got on him. He doesn't come out the main soma compound very often, and he doesn't interact with the other zodiac members. He's never said a word to me before. Kyo explains. Star sighed scratching her head a habit she picked up when she gets discouraged. I see. Thanks anyway. Star said with a sad tone staring at the ground. So what's got you asking about kureno? Kyo asked making star step back a bit. Uh! Oh! Nothing, really. I mean, he is one of the zodiac members, so ya know i'm curious about him because of that, you know? Star started walking back towards the gates of the estate. It sounds sad somehow. Star bumped into something or someone noticing them. She looked down to see to see a little girl on the ground due to her bumping into them. Huh watch- oh my gosh, i'm so sorry! It was my fault! I wasn't watching where i was going. Are you alright? I'd feel terrible if you were hurt! Star said in worry. The little girl turned and looked at star making her gasp in realization who she was. Hold on. You're... you're momiji– star stopped herself mid way before saying she was momiji's younger sister. Careful momo's not supposed to know that she's actually momiji's little sister. Star said in her mind. You said..."momiji." are you friends? Star eyes widend a bit. Did you come...to see him? Momo asked. Uh. yeah. Momo got up. I mean, he is a friend of mine, but... star said getting up. Come on. I can help you. Here. momo said grabbing star's skirt pulling her along. Come with me. I'll take you to him. Momo says taking star to a place where they can get in. Wait. um. Star said jogging along letting momo pull her. I know a secret way! Momo said then let go of star's skirt. Star caught her breath then looked to the left seeing a door. Oh. is this the back entrance? Star wondered. Come and look. Over here. Momo said making star walk over to her. Momo was crouched down next to a hole that lead into the estate. See? You just crawl through. Momo says. Oh, thanks. But i don't know– hurry up! Momo said cutting star off and walking through the hole. Half of star's face turned blue as her eye twitched. She shook her head then crawled through. Once she was through momo gestured her to follow. They don't let me in the front, so i always have to sneak in from there instead. I play here when i can. Momo explains. Hey, momo. Can i ask you, are you acquainted with– i mean, do you know momiji at all? Star asks while momo peaked around the coner to see if someone was there. Kind of. I met him before, at papa's building. Star remembered when they saw each other. Star chuckled as "forgot" was above her head. I thought he looked just like mama. Momo ran to a different hiding spot while star followed behind her. So it was weird when i told her that and she said no. she didn't think they looked anything alike. Momo went to a different spot with star following. And then papa said i couldn't see him anymore. But then i was sneaking around and i found the house where momiji lives. There, you see. Momo says peaking around a tree. Star peaked seeing momiji playing his violin. That day, he was playing the violin, too. He doesn't always play it, but when he does, i like to watch him. Star had a blush on her cheeks as her eyes shook. Momiji. You don't ever go talk to him? Star asked. I'm not allowed. Papa says. But you're his friend, so it's okay if you do. I did a good job bringing you here, right? Momo grabbed star's skirt. So maybe you can help me get my wish. You'll help me, won't you? Go ask him. Ask momiji if he'll be my big brother. Please! Momo stared into stars eyes pleading. I mean, he looks just like mama. I know mama said he doesn't but... that's not true. I want a big brother so much! Someone to talk to and laugh with. I even started violin lessons, too. We could practice together. It would be so perfect! We'd play everyday. Ask him for me? Momo said then left. Please, ask! She said one last time then left. A shadow casted over star's eyes as she stared at the ground. She slowly walked over to momiji's sliding glass door and tapped on it as momiji stopped playing. He gasp then turned to see star still staring at the ground. Star? I wasn't expecting to see you today. Momiji opened the glass door. What are you doing here? Never mind that. Come on in. momiji said grabbing stars hand and pulling her inside. She still hadent looked up from the ground. Opps. looks like you've got some dirt on your clothing. From what? Momiji asked then looked at stars face frowning. He put his hand on her cheek. Star? Something wrong? Momiji asked. Star eyes widen then she slowly lifted her head. The violin. I had no idea... that you played it. Star said looking back at the ground. Momiji looked at his violin. Mhm. i've been slacking off a bit since i started high school, though. And i recently quit lessons i had been taking for years. Momiji said. Huh? You stopped your lessons? Star asked. Mh-hm. Momiji said. That's too bad. But you're not going to stop playing though, are you? Star asked making momiji look up at her. It's momo. She started taking violin from the same teacher i had. So papa said he wanted me to stop my lessons. Star's pupils shook as she held back the tears. The truth is, he's scared. He's afraid of me getting close to momo and mama. Because if that happened, i might destory the happy life they have now. The one he worked so hard to rebuild. And i wouldn't want that, ether. I'm scared, too. That i'll hurt her if i see her. Momiji explained star thought about uotani. But... what if...? What if momo wanted to see you? I saw her today. She was actually the one who led me to your house. They've kept you separate, but even so, she always know about you. She stood there watching you. Star's tears started to fall as she spoke. Day after day! She's been right out there all this time! Star dropped her purse backpack on the ground. Just like you've always been there, watching over her, she's been here, listening to you play the violin. She wishes she could talk to you and play with you. She wanted me to ask you to be her big brother! Star said as her knees buckled making her fall to her knees as her hair flowed softly behind her. Kept apart, even though the person they long for...

... is still in this world. So then, it's was true. Papa said he was worried momo had taken notice of me. Oh, no. i feel so... happy. Momiji said as tears formed in eyes as he held his hands up to his moth. And the distance... only makes those feelings... more intense. Star, my dream for the future is to become a professional violinist. And when i'm able to do that, then i'll have a small, private concert, with no one but papa, mama, and momo there to watch me play. Ah, momo. Thank you. Star sobbed with her hands covering her face. And thank you, too star. I'm so happy. And i can only feel that now... momiji kneeled down infront of star. ... because i have somebody here who will cry for me. Momiji whispered. Star uncovered her face as her tears fell. I have too see him, no matter what. Star whispered. Sorry? What's that? Who did you come to see? Momiji asked softly as he smiled at her. Star closed her eyes letting the tears roll down her cheeks. Kureno.
