(Y/n's POV)
Kris saved and was immediately interrupted by Noelle's curiosity. Or should I say nosiness. "What are you doing," she asked Kris confused. I mean in her defense, reaching out to a star of light to restore our HP and prevent us from dying for good does seem kinda weird. "Didn't I say to be quiet?" they said. "Just answer the stupid question." "I'm saving. Saving as in saving in a game way. So we can restore our HP or prevent us from dying forever." they explained. "Oh, I know that part. I just didn't know what the process was called," Noelle shrugged off. "And how would you know that?" I asked. "Listen, why don't you use that big teenager brain of yours and put the pieces together, hm?" she mocked. "Oh yeah? Well, why don't you use that stupid ass brain of YOURS and FUCK OFF!" I smiled. She gritted her teeth to my delight. "Don't think too hard now, your brain mush might leak through your eyes and ears," I cackled. "Okay okay let's go you two," Kris sighed. She gave me a death stare before I mocked that too. We went on our way to find the way out of here when there was a puzzle blocking our path. Not knowing what to do, we read the instructions. "'Mice will rotate 90 degrees when they collide with the block. Citizens must push blocks to get mice in the holes. Use the bell to reset.'" I read aloud. I analyzed the puzzle and figured it out almost immediately. "Kris, step on that pressure plate when I say so," I ordered. Without hesitation, they moved to position without questioning me. I moved the block down once and to the right once. "Alright, step on it," I said. They stepped on it and the mice raced out, turned, and went into the hole. "Huh, first try too? What, do you read puzzle magazines at home?" they asked. "I guess I just have a knack for it" I shrugged. "Looks like that took care of it.." Noelle said creeping up to us. "What's wrong now. You're shaking." Kris pointed out. "I-I am? Oh- It's just that I'm afraid of mice-" she squeaked out. "Pssh, you really wanna talk all this shit but can't handle a few mice?" I snickered. "Ugh, I really don't know how Susie could ever love someone like you," Noelle grunted. "Because I'm not an asshole," I said. We pursued through the alley to go through an unavoidable battle with a Virovirokun.
*BATTLE START*
"Oh wow, a battle." Noelle said flatly. "Noelle, Y/n, let's take care!" Kris ordered. "Yeah, yeah, let's just finish this up already," Noelle said. "How do you know how to do battle stuff if you've never been here before?" I wondered aloud. "Unless..." Kris trailed off. "Let's pick this up after?" she said.
* Kris, Y/n, and Noelle showed the enemy tender loving care!
...
* Virovirokun looks healthy.
* Kris spared Virovirokun!
* You WON! Got 0 EXP and 88 D$.
"Phew, was scared we'd get hit there!" Noelle sighed with relief. "No, how the hell do you know how to battle?" I asked. "Figure it out, yourself smartsy," Noelle snapped. "Because, she's been here before. She did follow us into the Dark World. That's why you were by the closet door when we left, isn't it?" Kris accused. "Ding ding ding! Someone get them a prize," she said. "You're sick. All of this over Susie??" I said. "That's none of your business," she frowned. Kris and I rolled our eyes at her and we continued on the path ahead. We avoided (thankfully) a battle with some ambulance-flu shot-looking darkners and found a path going up so we went to check it out. Up there we saw Susie and Ralsei eating cotton candy together. "SUSIEEEE!!" I called out to get her attention. She turned to see me, Kris, and Noelle standing by the cones. "N/N!!!" she and Ralsei ran over to us. I hopped over the cones and hugged Susie tightly before kissing her. "Hey Kris!" she said. Noelle opened her mouth to say something. "No. I'm not talking to you," Susie said. "We were just looking for the way out like we planned, when we came across you two," Kris said. "Oh! Y/n you wanna try the cotton candy? It's GREATT," Susie said. "Nope, we were mostly dealing with Noelle all this time," I said. "Want me to get you guys some?" she asked. "Yeah, here let me give you some money," I searched through my pocket. "Don't worry, I'll pay for you two," Susie said. "You don't have to you know, I could just pay for myself," I smiled. "C'mon, can't I do something nice for you?" "Okay, if you insist," I giggled. She bought the 2 and brought them over. "Thanks! Oh and uh-" I said pulling another 160 D$ out. "Treat yourself. And DON'T waste it all in one spot okay? 80 is for Ralsei so don't hog it." I said giving it to her. "When did I deserve you again?" "Since you left me tangled in that bike cord," I chuckled. "Wait- Susie didn't help you when you were stuck there?" Kris stifled a laugh. "No, because she didn't know me, even though it would've helped," I looked at her. "OKAY BUT IN MY DEFENSE IT WAS PRETTY FUNNY," she giggled. "I WAS STUCK!!" I exclaimed. "AND HOW DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THAT?" she asked Kris. "Because, my mom and I found them lying on the floor there," they explained. "You did not have to bring that up," I facepalmed. "Shouldn't we get home now?" Noelle said. We all just gave her the most annoyed resting bitch face you could ever think of. "Meet you at the fountain?" she kissed me on the cheek. "Yeah, maybe we can, go on a date? I mean- if you're free," I stuttered. "Wasn't I the one who asked you out?" Susie asked. "Awkwardly. At the bottom of the stairs," I reminded. "I WAS NERVOUS OKAY!!" Susie folded her arms. "It's hard to believe you were," I said. "What do you mean?" Susie asked. I paused for a moment. I feel like I shouldn't tell her, at least, not right now. "Nothing- nothing, I'll tell you later," I said. "Y/n? Is something wrong?" she asked. "No, it's fine. I'm fine, we'll meet you at the fountain," I walked off, while Kris (and Noelle reluctantly) followed after me.
"Y/n?? What was that??" Kris asked. "Nothing, it's nothing," I said. "It didn't seem like nothing. You never say bye to Susie like that!" Kris recalled. "I just, ugh, it's hard to explain, come on, let's just go," I ignored. It'd be so embarrassing to tell Kris. Especially while Noelle's in the picture too. We went back the way we came and found another crosswalk. This road was much simpler to cross so we had no problem. The one AFTER however had three different stop buttons. I swear we were stuck here for HOURS. We finally found the solution and crossed that damned street. On the other side was a poster for a Ferris wheel. "You know what you should really do?" Kris asked. "Ask Susie to go on the Ferris wheel? Only if you ask-" "NO. I DONT EVEN LIKE HIM," Kris cut me off. "Come on, really? I think I'd be cute," I dragged out. "No. I'm not gonna do it," Kris huffed. "Fineee, I'm just sayin it'd be better than just third wheeling," I said. They went quiet for a moment before giving a small smile. "Ooh, what's that supposed to mean?" I smirked. "NOTHING!" they playfully shoved me and we started to continue walking. There was a dark alleyway behind us so we went down there. There was a pressure plate in front of a laser that cut off the rest of the alley. "I'll hold it down, Noelle you can make yourself useful and-" "Actually can I do it?" I piped up and said. If she was so bold to try and DRUG ME, she wouldn't mind trying to electrocute me for kissing her crush right in front of her. "Oh sure Y/n." Kris said. They held down the pressure plate and the laser went away. Noelle and I walked past, while giving me a cruel look as I held down the pressure plate to let Kris pass. Do I kinda wanna punch her right now? Yeah. Yeah I do.
