Third person POV

Elio woke up to responses from his connections that the Russians were indeed planning something and that Selenia's dad had been correct.

This news was a big deal. Whatever was going to happen would probably end in a mafia war between the two countries. Blood would be shed and money would be lost. Elio would do everything in his power to prevent the war but if it came down to it he'd fight.

There hadn't been a war in decades, just before Leo had taken over the Italian mafia. Elio was stressed and disappointed that this was going down under his reign.

After notifying Matteo and his other Ccapos what was going on he made phone calls to get more men and equipment sent to the Italian mafia base in Russia. It was only logical that would be hit first if a war was to happen.

Elio told one of his men to get ahold of the Belyayev men and have them come over for another meeting later in the day.

Matteo, his second and third, Jack and Ricky, Elio and Selenia were all in the conference room awaiting their guests.

When the men showed up Elio informed them that his contacts confirmed their conclusion and therefore he accepted the alliance, to Selenias dismay.

"We will be traveling to Italy tonight, I'm due home anyway and it's closer to Russia in case something goes wrong. I think besides Matteo and his men, all of us should go. We will set up our base of operation in our house in Italy until more information is uncovered. Are we agreed?" Elio asked.

"I think the plan makes sense. When is the plane leaving? I need to sort some matters before leaving the states?" Viktor asked.

"Take off will be at 9 pm tonight. The flight is about 8-9hours. We'll take my jet if that's okay?"

Everyone agreed and parted ways to see things before they left the country.

Although she hated the circumstances, Selenia was excited to go back to Italy. It has been a few years since she last went and she couldn't help but smile and the wild memories she has from her late-night adventures back then.

Elio was also excited to go back home. Although America was refreshing he missed the culture of Italy and his home. He couldn't wait to see his sister. The only thing he could do without is his group of disapproving mafia members that seemed to be waiting for his downfall.

After many calls and time spent packing the couple was ready to head to the private airport, where they would meet Igor, Viktor, and Vincent.

Matteo couldn't help but feel sad knowing his best friend was leaving and it would be at least a few years until he would see him again. The times aren't like they used to be. The two of them at a local Italian bar every night of the week playing pool and making stupid bets. Now they had responsibilities. Now things got in the way and most of their communication was business related.

It dampened both the men's hearts to say goodbye. Elio had enjoyed his time at the American house, and with his best friend. There was no one else like Matteo for him. Someone so brightening and loyal.

Matteo also was sad to see Selenia leave. Although he knew she'd be back after this whole Russian ordeal was over. However he silently prayed whatever Elio and Selenia had going on would go further, and Selenia might find a permanent home in Italy. His two friends both deserved that type of peace and love.

The drive to the airport was short. Their allies were already aboard the plane when they arrived. As they boarded some men stored away their luggage.
