3rd Person POV:

“Draco Malfoy!” The younger Malfoy twin’s name was called. Draco looked at Poseidon, who gave him a firm nod to let him know it’s okay. Draco sat on the stool and the hat was gently placed on his head. Once the hat was on it only took a second to make a choice, “Ravenclaw!” Everyone, besides Poseidon, was beyond shocked at a Malfoy not going to Slytherin but there was some clapping after a minute.

“Poseidon Malfoy!” Professor McGonagall called out making everyone start whispering, even the entire teachers’ table was shocked, because only few dark members and their kids knew about the Malfoys having two kids and even fewer knew he had been found. As Poseidon walked up the few steps to the stool, he kept his head held high and walked with grace only a Pureblood could. He sat on the stool with his back straight and looking ahead as the hat was put on his head. The sorting hat took a little longer on Poseidon than it did Draco since it was trying to put him in Slytherin and away from Draco, but Poseidon fought. He mentally argued with the hat until it finally gave in and yelled out “Ravenclaw!” Nobody knew Poseidon well so the clapping for him came sooner than it did for Draco as he walked over to the Ravenclaw table to sit right next to his twin.

Only four people were after the Malfoy twins, but no one was paying attention to the last people as almost the entire room were watching them, not that the twins noticed. The other students, and most teachers watched as the Malfoy twins sat as close together as possible, Poseidon with his arm around Draco’s shoulders, and Draco’s head was laid on Poseidon’s shoulder as they whispered to each other. They looked so close that if they weren’t identical twins then they would honestly be mistaken as a couple, a young couple, but a couple. Some people thought it was weird how close they were; Ron, Hermionie, most Gryfindor students, muggleborn, and halfbloods raised in the muggle world didn’t understand why the twins were so close or how the adults seemed to be okay with it. The students, and teachers, that are purebloods and halfboods raised in the wizarding world know that how the twins are acting is normal for most wizard twins. Twins that are wizards, especially identical twins, like the Malfoy and Weasley boys are always extremely close. Some twins are like the Malfoys where they need to physically need to be close together or they get depressed and have other health problems. While other identical twins are like the Weasley twins where they still have a strong connection in terms of finishing each other’s and loving the same things, but not as strong as the Malfoy twins where it would affect their health as great as it would with Poseidon and Draco.

The sound of Dumbledore talking was what made people look away. He gave a short speech about staying away from the third floor, staying out of the forbidden forest, and at the end saying random words about the crazy old man he is. Once the feast started and everyone was eating, Draco and Poseidon made small talk with the kids around them but mainly talked to Harry who was sitting right next to Draco. That definitely got some attention, the children of a well known death eater laughing and smiling with the boy-who-lived. All three of the eleven year old boys were happy to have been placed in the same house, even if it was with the know it all girl from the train Hermione Granger. The three boys just did their best to ignore her everytime she tried to jump into their conversation.

When the feast was over, the prefects led the way to the Ravenclaw common room. Harry, Draco, and Poseidon walked together in the front right behind the prefects. The prefects showed us where the entrance to the common room was and told us about the password. The password was that the picture that blocked the doorway would ask you a riddle. If you answered right, the door would open, and if you answered wrong, it stayed locked. The woman in the painting asked the prefect a riddle and the girl prefect answered correctly making the painting swing open. Everyone from second year and up went along doing their own thing while the two prefects and the first years stayed in the common room. The boy and girl prefects took turns telling first years the house rules. Most of the rules were just about grades, study group times, hygiene, and curfew.

Once done the girls left and went up a set of stairs to go to their dorms and the boys went up the other stairs to their dorms. It turned out that first year boys were in dorms that had to be shared with three boys in a room. Poseidon and Draco stayed together the entire time they were looking for their room or rooms, hopefully just one room. The twins walked past each room on the first year floor and checked the names next to each door. It turns out they are both, thankfully, placed in the same room which was the last room on the floor. They saw their names and decided to check out who their roommate is.
