"Amara wake up, come on. It's time for our next date." I opened my eyes squinting up at Marcus who was by the side of the bed shaking me. "Gah, what dude it's like," I glanced at the alarm clock, and my voice raised, "six in the freaking morning are you serious I could sleep for another three hours." We got back from the hospital over three days ago, and we have just been hanging out and recuperating.

I tried to roll over but Marcus grabbed my ankles and pulled me out of bed I fell on the floor with an oof.

"Not today you can't because you are coming on my morning run with me. I would be scared alone too if I wasn't in a good place to defend myself. I'm going to help you get in shape and maybe later on I could teach you some stuff that will help you to defend yourself." I didn't even respond I just grunted.

But after thinking about it a little I think I kind of agree he could help me to feel more confident when I'm all by myself.

I got up and got ready and then headed downstairs. I wore a light blue athletic tank top and some loose cotton shorts.

I went into the mud room and put on some running shoes when I stepped outside all of Marcus's warriors were shirtless stretching.

I turned on my heel and decided this is one of my worst decisions ever but before I could make it back inside Marcus grabbed my arm he was shirtless as well.

"Marcus I thought it was just you and me if you are leading all of them there is no way I'm going to be able to keep up look at them."

I looked out at all their huge leg muscles and abs it doesn't help that they are all like six four either though. They look like professional athletes.

Marcus grabbed my chin and I took a good look at him what was I thinking? He will probably have to walk to stay at my normal jogging pace this is so rediculous.

"Amara look me in the eyes." I did I melted into his brown eyes and waited, "I have this all worked out they aren't going on the same path through the woods as us, Luke is leading them today I will stay with you the whole time."

"That's all great but to stay at my pace you are practically going to walk I can't jog as fast as you and your legs are longer than mine."

"I will walk as much as necessary but I think you are underestimating yourself," he grabbed my shoulders "you are strong and fast you just need to use and practice it."

I rolled my eyes.

He grabbed my hand and we walked out into the grass. Luke walked over and turned to me and gave me a sly look then said, "Good luck you are gonna need it training with him."

I am now currently freaking out thanks Luke. All the men got up and followed Luke over to the path when they got to it they all took off and I could have sworn they are all related to the flash.

I sat down in the grass and started stretching my legs and arms. When I stood up I felt much looser I'm guessing Marcus already did because he just stood and watched me giving me a few tips on how to stretch better.

He walked us over to the side of the house where there was a barely noticeable track stood. I got to the beginning and then I looked up at him and said, "So are we running or jogging. I wasn't exactly expecting to do this today, and I'm a little confused."

"Let's jog to start but if you feel up to it we can begin to run when the track curves and we start to head back."

"I guess no promises. I haven't run in human form in a long time."

We started to jog well I did and just like I suspected he could practically walk and be fine but he was trying to make it look like he was jogging either to not embarrass me or to try and keep my energy up.

The sad thing is it did neither and I still wanted to die three minutes in and I was trying to hide it but I was breathing heavy and I can't see but I'm sure my face was extremely red.

"Remember to stride out it will help you, dig your heels in when you take a step, and propel you forward." I kind of wanted to punch him I know everything he was saying was just to help but the fact that I can barely jog without feeling like I'm going to die is extremely frustrating.

After like 20 more minutes of this straight torture I see the curve he was talking about I thought, he is insane if he thinks I can run at this point I can barely breathe but then before I could even tell him that there was no way I was going to be able to run he placed his hand on my back.

Tingles erupted from the place he was holding giving me a little extra energy still not enough to run but maybe enough to not die on the side of the track.

"Speed up just a little here." I looked up at him without enough energy to even respond with something sarcastic. The twit isn't even breathing heavy.

I pushed his hand off and laid in the grass on the side of the track when I finally couldn't take it anymore.

"Why..." gasp "why don't you actually get a run in and you could stop wasting your time on me" gasp "I bet you could run this thing in five minutes flat but you are bored out of your mind trying to help me."

"You think I'm bored?"

I gave him a weird look then nodded.

"You have no idea how hot you look when you run. I could watch you all day."

"You are very weird. Now I would like to die in peace so if you will." I made a shooing motion with my hand. I could feel my heartbeat in my stomach.

"I'm not weird, lots of mates find it attractive, and now that you have gotten a break we are definitely sprinting back."

He grabbed my hands without my consent and pulled me up my legs felt shaky.

He started jogging with his hand on my back so I had to sprint to keep up. Now I was really wheezing. It took us half the time to get back as before, I could see the house even though it was a little blurry at this point. I can feel sweat rolling down the side of my face and into my eyes.

When we got out I felt like I was going to puke. I ran out and around to the back of the house and threw up Marcus came around and pulled my hair back.

When I was done I put my hands on my knees and tried to catch my breath Marcus hooked his arms under mine and pulled my back flat to his chest, "Marcus whatever you are doing now is really not a good time."

"You never hunch over as you get done running and for your information you just ran faster than any human female and some of the female wolves in our pack."

I didn't respond I just leaned against Marcus him still pinning my shoulders against his chest.

"Hey so you remember I was trying to tell you about something in the hospital? Well it's kind of important and-"

Just then Luke came around the house all sweaty and said, "Woah I'm not interrupting anything am I?" I pulled my arms out of Marcus's hold.

"No Marcus just wouldn't let me breathe how I wanted to after our run what do you need?"

"Um I just need to speak with you alone for a second."

I tapped Marcus on the hand and said, "I'll meet you inside in ten minutes?" He nodded and walked around the house.
