► Easy for you to say, Harder for me to take.

━━ London Wright,
September Twenty-Sixth. ━━

For the twentieth time this week, I stood in front of the room that had my future sitting inside. I had been standing here for around twenty minutes, and all alone.

"Excuse me, nurse?" I hear his voice ask in the room. "Why hasn't my daughter been here yet? Has something happened to her?"

I tense up immediately.

"No, she's fine. I just haven't had the time to bring her. You'll see her soon." She told my dad.

I tear up. Tears begin to drop down my cheeks, and I decide that I need to leave. I gather my things and get away from my dad's hospital room. When I get closer to my room, I see Luke standing in the middle of the room— distracted.

"Oh, hi." I mumble. "How are you?"

"Yeah!" He smiles and looks at me. "I'm good. I'm just checking everything on your clipboard. Where have you been?" He hums.

I shrug nonchalantly, "Um . . . Just hanging, I guess."

"I believe that." He nods, obviously lying. "I have good news!"

"Really?" I raise my eyebrow.

"You're being released soon! You get to go home soon." He claps, "Isn't that amazing news! You're recovering very well."

"Yes, that's great." I nodded. "Is my dad coming home too?"

"Unfortunately not. He's got too many things that need to be looked at daily until he can go home. Why?"

"I'm not very old, Luke. I can't look after myself." I mumbled. "I can't be home alone for long."

He furrowed his eyebrows together, "Right. That would be a problem, wouldn't it?" He then chuckles, looking at his watch. "I'll see what we can do. I'll be back later."

I nod, "Okay."

━━ Luke Hemmings,
Rushing Down The Hallway. ━━

I had been thinking a lot this past couple of weeks. I had thought about London, who she was, and what she was like. But this is an amazing opportunity.

A lot of responsibilities rush through my mind. I rushed down the hallway fast, passing doctors and nurses whilst saying, "Excuse me" a thousand times a moment. I turn a sharp corner and face Ashton's office. I knocked.

"Come in." He says, his voice muffled.

I opened the office door, and closed it once I'm inside. "I trust you, Ashton." I start with. "I need your opinion and I trust you more than anyone. Besides my mom."

"Wow, Luke." Ashton looks me up and down. "Did you just run a 10K? What's going on?"

I sit across from Ashton, taking a sip of his water bottle— Which he silently complained about. "Do you know about Dr. Wright? And what's going on with him?"

"He's in my hospital wing, I know. I heard about the crash. Is his daughter okay?" He asks, but I use my hands to stop him from talking so that I could talk myself.

"Yes, yes she's fine! But that's not my point." I said, "My point is that she's being released soon and she needs a place to stay. She's sixteen. She can't be alone for a long time. It's scary, and confusing." Ashton nods. "And I was wondering if you thought if it was a stupid idea to let her stay with us?"
