~Sayd~

"Sayd!"

"Sayd, I know you can hear me," she banged the door even louder. "It's almost 8 a.m.; you'll be late."

I groaned in frustration and yelled from under my blanket. I felt so much better than the day before. My body ached less and my under eyes were back to normal.

"You sure you can go to school? Mera asked sounding concerned. I had to her about what happened with Danté and she had been worried about my life since then.

"Yes I have to," I got up from the bed and yawned. " I can't afford to miss any other day. "

I had skipped a day of class following the Danté incident because so much had happened that I ended up oversleeping. Kace had called me a couple of times to check up on me but because I felt extra petty I ignored his calls and his texts. He ended up coming to my house and sent Mera to tell him I was alright. When she did he looked up at my window and made eye contact and he smirked knowing exactly what I was doing.

I checked the time on my phone and without wasting any more time, I got up from my bed took the quickest shower ever, and paired the first skinny jeans could find with a black crop top. I already knew Mera was going to miss her classes today but I still went ahead to check on her before I left.

"Mera?" I opened her door.

"You are going to be late," she said before I could say anything else. She was laying on her bed with a thin blanket covering her and her phone in her hands.

"I know, I'll catch a ride with Aya downstairs. I just wanted to see how you're doing first.

She looked up at me and smirked." I'm good babe. "

She had been in zombie mode for the past two days and she still hadn't told me what happened.

" Are you sure?" I stepped further into her room." I can talk to Timothy today after my classes and—,"

"No, let me talk to him first. Okay?" She said looking for my cooperation.

" Alright, " I knew even if I tried I convince her she wouldn't budge." Well, I'll see you later okay? "

"Okay ."

I rushed downstairs and to the front door hoping Aya didn't leave yet and like an answered prayer, his car was still parked outside.

"Aya, good morning." I greeted him as he locked his front door.

"Sayd, late again I see."

Aya lived next door and worked at the university as head of security, which gave him an excuse to report late for work.

"Yeah," I said nervously smiling. " I slept in."

"That I see. Come on in," he opened the car door for me and gestured for me to follow him.

"Thank you," I said excitedly crossing over to his house and getting in the car.

After about thirty minutes we arrived on campus and Aya was such a sweetheart, he parked just outside the lecture hall my class was going to be in. It was already time for the lecture to start but he wasn't in the class yet so I took out my phone to text Timothy. I know Mera had asked me to stay out of it but I couldn't help it. Mera was like a sister to me and I had never seen her like that before. This was one of my biggest fears when Mera first told me she liked him a few years ago. That something would happen and I'd be stuck choosing between the two of them.

Me: We need to talk.

Timothy: Well good morning to you too

Me: What did you do to Mera, Tim?
