I'm back to writing Caesar One-Shots. I actually don't think I actually ever stopped. I had a great idea and decided I'd write it down!
I had been sent out earlier this morning to collect snow samples, just like usual. I was working hard, grabbing all sorts of different snows with gravel or sand or other things in it.
Once I thought I had all of it, I decided to check the list to make sure there wasn't anything I was missing, and sure enough, there was some odd type of snow I had to get from a cave. "Well, it isn't dark out yet, aught to just get it and call it a day." I said, speaking only to myself.
I entered the cave and started searching the cave floors for a little bit of snow, not going too far from the mouth. Just as I had the snow, the cave began to rumble. "What the hell?!" I yelled as I started to run towards the cave mouth. Just then, a pile of snow came down and blocked the cave entrance.
I began to worry, because who knows how long I'd been in this damned cave? I began to hit the snow to see if that would do anything, but I could get anywhere.
A few hours passed and I sat on the floor of the cave as it gradually got colder, the fears of dying slowly sinking in. The coat I had was no longer providing enough warmth for me, and I was also worried about the amount of oxygen I had left. I curled up into a ball on the floor and sat, simply hoping that someone would find me.
I noticed the snow was beginning to melt, but I had assumed it was probably around eleven at night, and the sun wouldn't hit the snow until at least twelve the next day.
A hole in the snow eventually melted, and peeking through the small hole was Caesar. "YN! That's where you were?! Are you ok?" He asked, climbing in through the hole. "Y-Yeah. I guess so." I said, still trying to preserve what little warmth I had left.
Caesar could tell that I was lying, so he came over and gently held me in his arms. "YN, you're so cold, why didn't you call for help?" He asked, sitting me back down and beginning to take off his signature jacket. "I left the transponder snail back at the lab." I said, chuckling a little. He sighed, then put his coat warmly around me. He tucked it tightly and hugged me once again. "I- I get to wear your coat. It's like a dream come true." I said, smiling a little.
Caesar lifted me up again and kissed my forehead. "I won't let this ever happen to you again." He said, caressing my cheek. I chuckled. "Thanks, Caesar." I said, leaning in even further to his warm embrace.
Caesar carried me back to the lab and into the living room. He sat me down on the couch then quickly sat down next to me and put his arms around me. "Next time, I'm not letting you out by yourself, I'm having that warlord go with you or something so it doesn't end up like this again. I promise I'll protect you no matter what." He said, holding on even tighter to me than before.
