Story is based on the Transformers Prime series. It is completely separate from the Heart of a Prime series, Transformers Prime is a series that I have wanted to write a fanfic about for a while.

Terrified was an understatement, she could not return home and she could not return to him. Everything had crumbled down for her in a single day after waking up this morning to go to school like she usually does. However, when she woke up and discovered that her stepsister had lied about her stealing her boyfriend and received a beating from her stepmother, she had tried to seek shelter with her boyfriend. But, he and her stepsister go together in secret. He nearly beat her that morning, only to let her know she was dead once school finished. And what was worse, her own father didn't even try to protect her. He believed only her stepmother and stepsister.

And she went to school almost covered in bruises. Only her face and arms were not hit. She didn't know if she should be grateful for that or not, she would rather someone found out and contact the police on her behalf. But, it seemed no one could really help her now. She considered accepting her fate, but that was foolish. She didn't really have much in that home anyway, she had managed to sneak her important documents out and that was all she really needed.

Maybe I should just find somewhere to work and get an apartment.

She was seventeen and it was her last year of high school. She figured she could wait it out. Her stepsister didn't go to the public school, she went to private like her ex boyfriend did. Maybe that was how they met, she wasn't sure.

It was the end of the school day, but she was in no hurry to leave. She took her time gathering her things from her locker, she checked the time and decided that she would have time to deliver resumes to a few places. She walked to the bathrooms to use quickly and take the time to tie her hair back into a neat ponytail. She looked at her clothes and sighed, they weren't in the best shape. She was wearing a plain, white t-shirt, a red jacket with holes and tears in it, and a pair of jeans that were thin and not warm to wear. Her shoes had also seen much better days, but at least they stop her from stepping on anything sharp. Well, sharp rocks, she couldn't count on her shoes stopping a nail from digging through the sole of her shoes.

She finally walked out of the school, glancing around and seeing that the front of the building was practically empty. She breathed out a sigh of relief, she could get away unseen. She was good at staying invisible, she didn't have any friends to talk to anymore. They stopped being her friends in the last year, apparently their families had gotten some good jobs and she was no longer worth their time because she was not rich. She wasn't going to complain though, she felt it was better to not have any connections now. Especially since she needed to survive on her own from now on if she wanted to avoid her ex and family.

She walked along the path towards the centre of town, clutching her bag tightly to herself as she was nervous about how the day would go. Her name is Saphira, she lost her mother when she was five and her father quickly remarried to her stepmom six months after her passing. Her stepmother already had her stepsister, who is a year younger than her, and it became quickly apparent that her stepmother hated her. Mostly because she resembled her mother a lot. Her mother had thick, velvet, black hair, just like her own hair, smooth, moon pale skin and bright, green eyes. Saphira inherited a lot of her mother's features, her skin and hair matched her mother, while her eyes were a deeper green than her mother's eyes. She only resembled her father in some facial features, such as the shape of her eyes, ears and chin, everything else she mostly got from her mother. Saphira had always assumed her stepmother and stepsister were jealous. They were blonde with blue eyes, but Saphira was the apple of her father's eye. At least...until she was ten. Then things changed for the worst.

Saphira somewhat felt that what happened that morning was a blessing. Her stepmother practically told her to leave and never return, and her ex-boyfriend threatened her life, so leaving them was a blessing. She could now live without the constant nightmare she lived daily at the hands of her family. She arrived in town and began going to different retail stores and fast-food places, handing in her resume and explaining how much she was willing to work. She went to a couple cafes and restaurants she knew were open late in the afternoons and night, so she hoped she would get something.
