"Ew! I can't believe we're already having exams! I feel like I just stepped into this school but here I am mugging away!"
"Tell me about it."
"Actually, it's not been that long. We've been here for six months, it's perfectly reasonable for them to give us an exam at this time to test what we've learnt so far. Besides, if you did your revision regularly, you wouldn't need to try and cram everything in at the last minute."
"You're not one to talk! You're a mind reader! You can just get the answers from everyone else in the room!" Yena protested.
"Nope, I can't. Don't you think the professors would have thought of that already? The walls of the exam venue are anti-magic which means no cheating. All the desks are enchanted too so it's impossible to use your powers inside unless you're extremely powerful." 
"Aww, that sucks. I thought Yuri would be able to hypnotise the professor or something." 
"You're such an idiot." Chaeyeon smacked her on the head with a pillow as she walked by. 
"I can't begin to tell you how much trouble I'll be in if I fail this. My parents are going to cut my allowance!" 
"Maybe you should have thought of that and used it as motivation to study earlier." Chaewon sniggered. 
They'd had group study sessions in the common room so that they could motivate each other and give moral support. However, it didn't seem to work on Yena who promptly fell asleep on her textbook within fifteen minutes. 
"Hey! I'm not the only one who didn't study here! Yujinnie was napping too!" 
"Yeah but unlike you, she's naturally smart. She doesn't need to study a lot to do well because she remembers things a lot better than we do. I think her brain works as fast as she can run." 
"Sadly for you, you need to actually study to do well like the rest of us." 
"Life is so unfair."
"Too bad, suck it up and try to study before you hand in a blank paper later." 
...
"HEY THE RESULTS ARE OUT!" 
"HUH? ALREADY?" 
"YEAH! I HEARD FROM REI THAT IT'S IN THE HALL!"
"LET'S GO!" 
Without waiting for a response, Yujin shot out of the door in a blur, leaving the rest of them behind.
"Ya! That puppy forgot us again! Looks like we're going to have to go down on foot." Chaeyeon sighed, facepalming. 
After gathering everyone, they ran off together, bumping into tons of other students along the way. It seemed like there was a mass stampede to the hall to see the grades. The grades shown in the hall would only be their total grade after considering their performances in all their subjects. Their individual grade for each subject would be given in class. 
"YA KANG HYEWON!" Chaewon exclaimed, pointing at the board. 
"Huh?" 
"YOU'RE ONE OF THE TOP SCORERS IN RICHARDSON!" 
"WHAT?" 
She looked up, seeing the giant wooden board on the wall. There were two types of boards, one was the huge wooden one that was high up for everyone to see. The other one was much smaller with many pieces of paper pinned onto it. The giant board was to show the top ten scorers in each house. The house with the highest aggregate score among the top ten would get bonus points for the year. 
Seeing her name engraved in gold on the board, a rush of pride surged through her chest. Her dad would be so proud to see this. 
Joining the others at the other board, she tried to help them locate their names among all the others. Since their houses were no longer according to their dorm towers, their results were no longer grouped together which made it much harder to find.

"HEY I ACTUALLY DID BETTER THAN EXPECTED!" Yena exclaimed happily.
"WOAH HICHAN AND YUJINNIE ARE ON THE LEADERBOARD TOO!" Wonyoung said in awe.
"We all did well! High five guys!" 
As much as she knew that she shouldn't be nosy, Hyewon couldn't resist the temptation to look for Eunbi's name. 
Kwon Eunbi: 67
That was surprising. Wasn't she really smart too? She had always gotten near full marks in their class quizzes; how could this have happened? She must have been dragged down by one of her subjects and Hyewon had a feeling that she knew what it was. 
In school, they took five subjects, potions, magic defence/magic training, physical defence/PE, magic history and magic theory. There were certain subjects that had a higher weightage than others and the subject with the highest weightage at 40% was magic defence since it was the practical aspect which was the most important at the end of the day. Magic defence was the most difficult since you had to apply the skills you learn in magic theory. Did her father fail her? 
"We should celebrate our good grades!" Yuri suggested, buzzing with excitement. 
"Let's go to the city and have fun there!"
"The city? We're forbidden from leaving the school without special permission!" 
"I know a teleporter who can get us out undetected, as long as they don't do a random check on the dorms and no one realises that we're gone, there won't be a problem."
"Are you sure? We could get kicked out if we're caught, I don't know if this is worth the risk." Hitomi said. 
"Oh come on! It'll be fine! Besides, what's school without breaking some rules here and there? It would be so boring if we didn't break the rules at least once!" 
"Fine, we'll need to come up with a plan. We need to make sure that we have an excuse for our absence, someone is bound to notice if they don't see us on campus since Choi Yena and An Yujin are forever making a ruckus wherever they go. We also need something convincing enough to tell Eunbi so that she doesn't report us to the headmaster. Out of everyone in the school, she's definitely going to realise that we're gone since we literally share a dorm." 
"Don't worry about it! Leave everything to me, I'm an expert at coming up with excuses to sneak out." 

AN: updates will prob be slower now cos I'm drowning in lectures and tutorials and promos are coming in like 1 month fml
but on the happy side, EUNBI YENA YURI   IVE ON ISAC WAHOOOOOOO omg I'm so proud of them Yena and Yuri got silver and Eunbi got bronze :D EUNBI'S PERFORMANCE WAS SO GD LIKE WTHECK AND SHE WAS JUGGLING THIS ON TOP OF HER SG TRIP AND JAP TRIP LIKE BRUH I WAS SO MINDBLOWN WHEN SHE CHANGED HER DRESS AND THE DANCER ALMOST KISSED HER OMGGGGGGGG our poor baby has been at the venue since 5 this morning so I hope she goes home to sleep happily cos 25.1 IS AN AMAZING SCORE  she did so well if u only count the dancers who didn't have competitive training she technically came 2nd cos Xiaoting is just god level our precious baby bought sm food for the rubis that went to support her today and she cried at the end omg my heart she didn't have her 11 babies to congratulate her 😭😭😭 
on another note, I'm planning to write a sports day for them cos like I mentioned in the earlier chapters I mentioned interhouse games hehe I'm gg to hv fun writing that one but it's gg to take a while
