We're on top of the roof observing the door as Erica preps to go through the vent. It's night, and the stars are out and shining up ahead. The truck from the last delivery pulls away and I look over at Dustin to see him examining the area with his binoculars.

"We good?" I ask.

He doesn't say anything and puts his thumbs up. Robin grabs the walkie-talkie and presses the button to talk.

"Erica, do you copy?"

We hear static for a second before she comes through.

"Mmhm, I copy. You nerds in position or what?"

"Yeah, we're in position," Robin responds. "It's all quiet here so you got the green light."

"Green light. Rodger that," Erica says. "Commence Operation Child Endangerment."

"Can we maybe not call it that?" Robin asks.

I roll my eyes as Erica ignores Robins question.

"See you on the other side, nerds."

The walkie-talkie goes quiet and we all sigh.

"And now we wait..." I say, resting my chin on my hands that are on the railing.

Steve looks over at me and smiles slightly as he watches me. I turn to look at him and his smile grows as I catch him watching me. I smile back.

"Beautiful," he whispers.

I blush as Erica's voice comes through again.

"Alright nerds. I'm there."

"Do you see anything?" Robin asks as we all perk up with excitement.

"I see those boring boxes you guys are eager to go through."

"Do you see any guards?"

"Negative."

"Booby traps?" I ask jokingly.

"If I could see them, they'd be pretty shit traps. Wouldn't they?"

I roll my eyes.

Girls got attitude.

"Thank you for that," Robin replies.

We wait a few seconds before she talks to us again.

"I'm in!" she says.

Steve wipes his face with his hands.

"Oh god," he groans.

Suddenly the door begins to open and we see Erica walk out and cross her arms.

"Free ice cream for life!" she yells at us.

We all smile, shocked it actually worked. We all stand and quickly hurry to get off of the roof to get down to Erica. Once we enter the secret room, Dustin walks over and presses a button to close the door, just in case. I examine the room to see stacks and stacks of boxes.

"Holy shit-" I say as Steve pulls out a pocket knife.

We all surround him as he cuts a line down the tape and opens the box. We all look and see a silver box with a handle on it.

"Here goes nothing..." Steve says grabbing the handle and twisting it.

We hear a click and then a soft steam emerges from the box. Steve lifts the lid off and we see four capsules with handles.

"Well that's definitely not Chinese food," Steve says.

He sets the top down and looks at us.

"Maybe you guys should, you know stand back," he says pushing me behind him.
