"Why does being a speedster mean you're always hungry?!" Dawn groaned in the cortex while eating a Big Belly Burger that she brought for the team.
Her mother laughed and gave her a glass of water. Dawn thanked her continued to eat.
She, Caitlin, Cisco and Ralph were here at S.T.A.R labs while the West-Allens were off somewhere, spending time together.
In this past two days, her father attempted no talk to her. Nora ran with him, even caught a thief while Dawn hasn't left her mother's and Cisco's side who was more than glad to spend time with him. Frost entertained her with her snarky remarks while Cisco lifted her gloomy mood with his jokes. He was really the best.
Dawn hasn't talked to Nora either, nor did Nora try to talk to her. It was heartbreaking, really. Because Nora and Dawn were close, and now all they did was to glare.
When whole team was together, everyone treated her like someone they actually didn't know. They thought of her as an unbelievable thing except her mom and Cisco. It was easy to believe Barry and Iris had a kid than Barry and Caitlin.
If only her younger sister was here... She would know what to say. She always does. She's strong, outgoing and a lot like Dawn, but Dawn now felt like defeated and she had no means to fight, to prove that her parents loved each other when all they did now was to give each other awkward glances.
But if Dawn leaves now and goes back to her timeline, who will keep an eye on Nora? Or whe will she return?
She has to stay here and make sure everything goes right. Iris marries the one she loves and Barry marries the one he loves. They can't change that.
There shouldn't be any changes. That's the main thing.
"Hello everyone!" Iris West-Allen greeted, walking in with her husband and daughter. The team greeted her back. "Are there any emergencies?"
"Nope." Cisco replied. "Dawn brought burgers, do you want some?"
"Ooh, I want!" Nora beamed and grabbed the one that was for her. Iris and Barry ate too. Like before, her father only gave her a quick glance, avoiding any eye-contact.
Just what does he have against her?
This is a mess and it's hurting Dawn's head. When will they treat her like she actually exists?
"Dad has invited us all for the BBQ in the evenin." Iris announced.
"I'll be there." Cisco voiced.
"Me two!" Ralph said.
"Caitlin?" Iris asked, turning to her.
"I can't, but thanks for the offer." She responded with a small smile. Iris nodded while Dawn stared at her in confusion. Caitlin had no plans, none that Dawn was aware of.
"What about you, Dawn?" Her father asked for the first time. She was caught off guard, a hint of surprise visible on her face.
"I'll be there." She replied, not sure if it was good idea. But if she goes, her mother will come too. She'll make sure of that. Caitlin's her family so no leaving her out.
Few hours later, Dawn found her mother sitting in her lab, alone going through her phone.
"Mom, just why are you sitting here alone?" Dawn asked in a scolding tone. Caitlin placed her phone on the desk and answered. "I have work."
"Pfft," Dawn scoffed. "There's literally no work at S.T.A.R. labs and if there was, I'm sure you already did it. Come on, let's go at the West house." She tried to make her stand up but Caitlin pulled her hand away.
