Mysteries unravel. Somehow, by catching us off guard or shocking us. Everything is revealed in the end.

I stood silently by Sebastian as he discreetly conversed with the inn's management while admiring the inn's aesthetics.

It didn't really feel like an inn to me; it was more like a tiny hotel. Surprisingly, it's clean.

As thunder boomed across the sky, I couldn't help but think of my family. What were they now doing?

I instantly texted Mom to let her know we were going to stay at a hotel to wait for the storm to subside.

The manager gave me a quick look before returning to his task.

My gaze surveyed the interior.

Sebastian tightened his jaw. "If you don't want to be blind, I suggest you keep your fucking eyes anywhere else rather than on my woman."

I raised an eyebrow at the manager, who then discreetly apologized before going back to his work.

I massaged Seb's back, trying to help him relax a bit. He turned to face me, his gaze softening as his shoulders relaxed. He kissed my forehead, murmuring some sweet words.

It had been a long day for us.

The manager spoke without making eye contact, "Here are some candles and matchsticks in case the electricity goes out at midnight."

Sebastian nodded before grabbing the candles.

I realized we didn't have any bags when we used the elevator.

I left the house without any clothes.

Great.

Peering at my reflection, I grimaced.

I sighed. "I didn't bring my clothes."

I looked horribly disheveled.

He grinned and said, "It's okay, you can wear mine." I then saw a packet in his hands.

"Remember I lived at a hotel? I checked out earlier, thinking things would be simpler for when we go tomorrow. I guess this was a wise choice despite all the fuss. "

After he used the word "fuss," I rolled my eyes but was still amused.

When the elevator reached the third floor, it rang, and we exited. There were six rooms lined up side by side, with a balcony at the end of the short hallway.

I unlocked our door after we found our room and I lit the lamps.

I looked around the space and saw a balcony, a wardrobe, a single bathroom, and a bed. Nothing unusual, but this would be the first time Sebastian and I had ever shared a bed. I was a little anxious and thrilled.

Sebastian hummed a tune, threw himself on the couch, closed his eyes, and spread his legs wide while setting the packet on the table.
