"What's so funny?" They both ask simultaneously.
"Uh, nothing, just- you guys are kind of funny. I never had a sibling, at least not one that lived with me, so I can't really relate to this. It's all new to me, and I wish it wasn't," I sigh, looking away for a second to collect myself. When I look back up, both of the boys are looking at me with sympathy, but I think they can tell I don't like it, so they go back to their conversation.
After a while, the conversation becomes light, and we all talk about our lives, and what's going on. I found out that Mike attends the same college that Vic teaches at, and is doing well. Apparently everyone in that family is a complete brainiac.
"I think I'm going to head out now. I'll see you guys later," Mike says, hugging both Vic and I as he walks out the door.
The two of us head up the stairs, making small talk on the way to both of our bedrooms.
Just as I'm about to walk into my door, however, Vic whips around and opens his mouth, and before I can stop myself, I stumble right into him, causing both of our lips to graze past each other.
I quickly pull away, wide eyed and petrified of his reaction.
"Well, goodnight to you too, Kellin," Vic laughs, bidding a goodnight and walking down to his side of the house.
Why did I enjoy that?

The next morning rolls around, and it still feels weird to wake up in a nice, comfortable bed. There are a lot of things that I'm thankful for in this moment.
I reluctantly drag myself out of the bed, stretching my back and turning around when I hear someone enter the room.
It's a little embarrassing that Vic is standing in front of me, seeing as I'm only dressed in a pair of boxers, but I try to make the situation a little less awkward by paying no attention to the fact that this could be considered weird. At least I'm not a minor.
"Good morning, Kellin. If you want, you can get dressed and I'll make breakfast." I nod my head rapidly, the growling of my stomach solidifying the fact that food is what I need right now.
"Be quick. I've already started cooking," Vic winks, turning around and walking back out the room.
I hastily throw on a pair of Mike's jeans and a random tee shirt, brushing my hair and washing my face before making my way downstairs. I never did understand why people brushed their teeth right before breakfast. It just ruins everything.
"Ah, there you are. I made breakfast muffins. I hope you don't mind," Vic says shyly, looking down at the neatly placed food.
"It's great," I laugh, sitting at the table and digging in. He had made just about one of the most creative looking breakfasts ever, having a little muffing-type cup made out of bacon, filled with eggs and cheese.
"This is quite creative, and also delicious, might I add," I say with a mouthful of food. Vic smiles, swallowing before answering.
"I got the idea from my mom. She used to travel a lot, and would need foods to bring on the road, so she came up with this little concoction. It's pretty neat, actually," He laughs, looking over his little creation.
"Your mom sounds really nice. I mean, from what Mike said about her always being there for you guys, and also her wanting to be around you, even with your sexuality. I feel like that's what a parent is supposed to be, and I hope that someday my child will speak of me as joyfully as you speak of your mom and dad," I rant, snapping back to reality and looking down at my food.
It's quite sad that some children have to grow up without caring parents like Vic's. I mean, I've lived it first-hand through this past year, but my parents weren't always like this. Sure, they were tough, but never really hated me. They cared, up until this last year where something just clicked and they completely shut off any emotion towards me. I always wish I could go back and talk to them, see what goes through their mind when they decided to abandon me, but then again, I don't want to see that. I don't want to know what their reasoning was for leaving their child, because I know it will crush me.
"Earth to Kellin!" Vic says, waving a hand in front of my face.
"Oh, sorry. I just blanked out a little. Lost in thought, I guess," I mumble, not really feeling like eating anything anymore.
"Ah, I see. Well, as I was saying, I could take you down to the college today and we could have a talk with my dad and a few of the other administrators. I'm sure everything will be fine, but I want to make sure I'm right about what I told you," He explains, looking at me intently before going back to eating his food.
"That's fine. I'd like to start as soon as possible," I say, picking up my plate and rinsing it off in the sink.
"Okay, we'll leave in an hour, how about that?" Vic asks, bringing his plate over, too.
"Sounds good."

When we arrived at the college, Vic pulled in to a special spot that was reserved for people like principals and administrators.
"He's really nice, and if you're polite, which I know you will be, then you'll have even better chances of winning him over and convincing him that you're worth it," Vic tells me as he opens the door for me. I step out of the car, ready to face one of the most nerve-wrecking moments of my life.
"Ah, Victor! Who do we have here?" A tall man asks as we enter the building. He walks over to hug Vic, and I assume this is his father, seeing as his family seem to be big on hugging.
"Papa, this is Kellin, the boy I was telling you about," Vic says, stepping aside to allow me to introduce myself.
"Hello, sir, it's nice to meet you," I say, trying to sound as confident and polite as possible.
"Hello, Kellin. You can call me Mr. Fuentes," He says politely, shaking my hand and smiling happily. "If you'll both walk this way, we can get started."
I keep noticing that people, especially people Vic seems to know, give him this weird look, kind of like they know something, and it sort of freaks me out.
Oh well.
