Let's assume this is Grace's bedroom above

Chapter dedication is to Simdyp. For giving me comments that made me smile when I saw the notification 😇

Ifechi didn't like the feeling of goosebumps, perhaps no one did. But the amount of goosebumps that appeared on her skin from the moment they stepped down out of the car till they walked the long way to the big entrance, one would think she was friends with them.

Her mum kept commenting on how beautiful the house was.

"ulo nke a maka o, Ify okwa ya? (This house is very beautiful, Ifechi isn't it so?)"

"Yeah sure" She replied absent mindedly. How was she going to handle seeing Grace?

'Ifechi calm down, maybe you're overthinking, perhaps it's just another similar house, you know all these estate houses look the same'

If only her subconscious was right.

A guard took them into one of the living rooms where they stood waiting despite the man's permission that they could sit.

"Sir Okereke!" A deep voice suddenly echoed through the large walls which had them turning.

Ifechi was stunned by the man that stood arms wide with a warm smile in the middle of their huge living room.

She had expected an old, pot bellied man. Mr Okigbae was young and handsome. Way too young to be senator in her opinion, he looked 45 max. Weren't most senators in Nigeria grandfathers and old men from governorship who went to senatorial District as their retirement?

"Senator!" Her father hailed and the two men met and shook hands.

Her fears was almost forgotten a few minutes later as they settled into their dining seats to have the "Christmas buffet." Her mouth watered on sight of the various assorted foods all arranged in different trays and dishes. She held herself from staring too long when Mr Okigbae spoke.

"My wife and daughter should be down any minute"

All her worries came rushing back.

What will I do when I see Grace.
What will she do when she sees me? I hope she will not be mean to me...well she can't do that in front of all these adults, sha she can if she wants to, Ifechi stop worrying it's just a visit, highest she'll not talk to you.....

"....Ifechi you should know Chinaza" her eyes snapped up and she blinked twice before shaking her head.

Despite already having a strong intuition that Chinaza was Grace's Igbo name, she decided to play dumb.

"No.. I don't"

Mr Okigbae raised a suspicious eyebrow "Really? She's in SS3, aren't you in SS3?"

"Yes sir but there are different arm....."

"....there they are!" He said cutting her off when two beautiful ladies entered the room. As the exchanges and formal introductions went on, Ifechi could only focus on one person, her nightmare since the past one hour.

Grace was in front of her.

"What the heck!"

**********

"So you're the genius who snatched first position from my daughter" Mr Okigbae commented. They were back in the living room after the exuberant lunch and Ifechi couldn't stop looking at her nails. Perhaps it was because she was scared of looking up straight at Grace whose glare was fixed on her from the moment they saw each other.
