when jere, steven, conrad, and cami pulled up to nicole's house, people were verywhere; the proch, the front lawn, the doorway.
when they made it to the door, jere made a bee-line for the drink table, conrad went who knows where, and steven sat on the couch. cami decided that she'd stick with jere for a while, who knows, maybe she'd end up finding an old face in a crowd somewhere.
'you want some?' he asked.
'uh, no thanks,' cami smiled, she wasn't dumb, she knew there was alcohol in the punch.
''kay,' he smiled, 'you don't have to hang out with me all night, you know?' he said taking a gulp out of his blue plastic cup.
'i know, but you did ask me to come,' cami replied.
'fair enough,' he said as the two made their way into the little living room, she decided to sit on the armrest and he sat down next to a guy in a red loveseat. she'd met him a few years back, his name was luke.
it annoyed her how a dozen girls were laughing at every little thing jere said, half of them sounded like dying chickens, some like spray bottles, and others giggled; it made her wanna let the ocean submerge her to a depth so deep, that she couldn't hear any of them.
she saw belly, taylor, and cam arrive, and a high-pitched voice say, 'belly, you came!'
it was nicole. of course, it was her. cami still didn't like her.
'hey, taylor,' cami smiled, as the girl half-heartedly slumped through the room towards the kitchen.
'wanna talk?' the girl asked.
'gladly,' cami replied.
'you know who pisses me off?' taylor sighed pouring some of the punch into a red cup.
'nicole?' cami guessed, chuckling slightly.
'yup,' she replied taking a sip, 'she's just so annoying, ugh. and the way belly talks to her, oh, my god,' she said rolling her eyes.
'no 'cause actually, ever since i met her at the deb thing, i've found her annoying,' cami said, grabbing a small cup and the half-full bottle of vodka, and taking a shot, 'belly's been kissing her ass ever since.'
'i bet it has something to do with conrad liking nicole or something,' taylor replied annoyingly, 'i thought you didn't drink?' she asked looking at the girl, 'you'd almost think you've done that before,' she said seeing as the girl didn't make a face.
'only qhwn i don't have to drive, and it's not very often, trust me,' cami replied, 'besides, it's cheap,' she shrugged, looking at the cup, 'oh my god,' she gasped fast.
'what?' taylor asked surprised.
'over there,' cami pointed.
taylor followed the girl's pointer finger, landing on a tall blond, 'damn,' she admitted, 'is that the anderson guy you were talking about? the one with the fraudulent dad?' she asked.
'mhm,' cami nodded.
'cami,' taylor turned, 'he's hot, like drew kinda hot,' she admitted, 'and you used to be friends with him?'
'yup,' she nodded, 'we'd surf with jeremiah, until that one summer where jere wouldn't talk about him.'
'what happened?' taylor asked.
'no clue,' cami shrugged, 'probably some stupid guy thing.
'you could totally hit that,' taylor chcukled.
'shut up, taylor,' cami laughed lightly, shoving the girl slightly.
'i'm serious, he would be perfect for the ball,' taylor nodded, 'i still can't believe your doing it, besides it'd be the perfect way to make jeremiah jealous.'
