"Bedtime at nine, kids!!" Robin grins while waving back at the Dustin, Max, and Lucas.... who are flipping us off. Wow what nice children!
...
"Woah woah wow- stop rowing!!" Robin gasps and signals for Steve to stop rowing the boat. I look over at Robin, who has the now jittering compass in her hand. "What happened? Fill us in on what's going on out there!!" The walkie-talkie buzzes. "Uh Dustin, your compass just went from wonky to wonky with a capital uahaauuhhh!!" Robin exaggerates into the radio. 
"Wow, what a great way to put it." I scoff with a sarcastic laugh. "Woah- Steve what are you doing??" Nancy asks, looking up at Steve who is now standing with his shirt off. "Well, someone's gotta go down there and check it out!" He pauses. 
"And I don't think any of you can beat being captain of Hawkin's High swim team." He shrugs, gesturing to jump into the water. "Wait!" Nancy blurts out, causing Steve to stop immediately. 
"Be safe." She says with a worried smile. "Will do." Steve mutters before diving into the dark lurking lake. 
Nancy and Steve were like a HUGE thing back in sophomore and junior year. I heard they got into this big drunken fight at my friend Stacy's Halloween party... Not even a month later, Nancy started hanging out with Johnathan Byers a LOT more than usual! Seems like she still has the hots for Steve!
"So uh lets give him a minute, minute-thirty." Eddie shrugs. "So would a gate into the underworld even look like??" I question. "It's kinda like this huge red glowing thing with a shit ton of vines." Robin replies, waving her hands around to give in to the huge effect. 
About two minutes goes by and no sign of Steve yet. "You think he's dead?" I ask jokingly which causes Nancy to give me a look of disapproval. Geez, what did I ever do to her-
Suddenly water splashes into the boat as Steve rises from the cold and darkened water. "So?" Robin raises an eyebrow. "Yeah there's definitely a gate there!" Steve says whilst panting like  a dog. "There's vines all over there dude- I uh-" He stops once more for breath.

Steve dips down slightly into the water like something pulled him. "That's weird- UAAGHHHHH" All of a sudden he's pulled completely under!! "HOLY SHIT!" I shout. "Oh my god oh my god..." Nancy mutters anxiously, standing up. "No no no, Wheeler, you are NOT going in that water!!" Eddie yells in a panic. 
"Don't go in after me." Nancy gives us a stern look before diving into the water herself!! After a moment's silence, Robin stands up quietly. "Hey! You heard her, don't go in!!" Eddie gets up, shaking his hands like a mad man. 
"I'm going." Robin shrugs. "But she's in charge, you said it yourself!!" Eddie barks back, his hair bouncing all over the place as he moves. "You kidding? I made that shit up." Robin chuckles and takes a deep breath, jumping into the water, and splashing us both. I sigh, standing up from where I previously sat. 
"Y/n, you little shit, don't tell me that you're thinking of going down there too.." Eddie says gripping my shoulders tightly, and staring daggers into my eyes. 
I smile nervously and attempt to remove his hands from my shoulders. "I'm sorry, Eddie..." I say, nearing the edge of the boat. "Don't you fucking dare, Y/n!" He points up his index finger to point at me sternly. 
I think the intrusive thoughts are gonna win on this one.
"I'm going to regret this.." I mumble before propelling myself into the water. I nearly scream when the icy cold lake touches my skin! I swim down in a dive, my eyes hurt but I manage to see okay. 
A chill runs up my spine when some seaweed brushes against my leg. Holy shit I need to hurry up and get to this thing before I run out of breath!!

Wait, is that it??!
My attention is grabbed by glowing red mist. I draw nearer to it just to discover a huge crimson colored gateway, covered in slimly vines and seaweed. This is unworldly..
I reach out to touch it and my hand goes through. A cold and dry feeling creeps up my body as I make my whole way through. In an instant, everything flips upside down! I'm laying on concrete?? I can breathe.. yet I am still sopping wet. 
"Holy shit..." I whisper under my breath, standing up. There's like floating flakes n shit in the air!! Is this what Dustin was talking about?? Fuck.. I'm in the upside down!!
Screams and shouts awaken me from my thoughts. I turn around to see Nancy, Robin, and Steve fighting off some huge bat creatures!! "Shit!!" I take a stick from off the dusty grey ground and run towards them, waving the stick in the air like a maniac. 
One of the creatures dives down at me, nearly hitting me! I whack it away with the stick and it makes a whining sound before dropping to the ground. I look over at Steve. He looks like he got bit pretty badly! Half his torso is covered in bites and gashes. 
"UAUAAAHHHH!!!" I scream, ducking just in time as a bat flies over my head. There's only two bats left so I think the four of us can take em! Wait- Make that five! I can see Eddie running towards us in the corner of my eye. 
I give a small wave but that was a HUGE mistake. All of a sudden I feel a sharp pain in my neck. "OW SON OF A BITCH!!!" I yelp, trying to pull a bat's jaws from off the right side of my neck!!
