"𝗚𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗢𝗢𝗡, 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦," 𝗠𝗔𝗗𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗖𝗛 greets as she waltzes between the two lines of students standing on either side of her, broomsticks in front of us. She stops on the other side of the lines, looking at each and every one of us as we greet her back. "Welcome to your first flying lesson. Well, what are you waiting for? Everyone step up to the left side of their broom. Come on now. Hurry up."

We all do as we're told so the woman continues. "Put your right hand over the broom, and say 'up'."

I lick my lips and look down at my broom. "Up." It makes it halfway before dropping back to the grass below. I try again and this time, I'm successful. I smirk and look up, meeting Weasley's eyes, who seems to be struggling to get his broom up. "Having trouble there, Weasley?"

"Mind your own business, Kane," the boy retorts. I don't add on to the conversation, and soon enough, everyone has managed to get their brooms up.

"Now," Madame Hooch begins, "once you've got hold of your broom, I want you to mount it, and grip it tight." I carefully step over the broom. "You don't want to be sliding off the end. When I blow my whistle, I want each of you to kick off from the ground, hard. Keep your brooms steady. Hover for a moment, and lean forward slightly, and touch back down. On my whistle, three, two."

The woman blows her whistle and immediately, a Gryffindork boy begins floating into the air, a terrified look on his face. I watch in amusement as he begins flying through he air uncontrollably. He hits the castle multiple times before flying toward us, spliting the group right in two as he flies past. His robe gets caught on the spear of a statue on the building. He hangs there for a moment, and then it rips and as he falls, he gets caught on something else before falling out of his robe completely.

Madame Hooch shouts for us to move out of the way as she rushes to the boy's side. The woman explains to us that she's going to take him to the hospital wing and that we are to keep our feet firmly on the ground or we'll be expelled. Bit of a harsh punishment if you ask me, but I'm not going to argue. I'd rather not be expelled after less than a week.

"Did you see his face?" Malfoy snickers. "Maybe if the fat lump had given this a squeeze, he would remember to fall on his fat ass."

I snicker at his comment, Blaise beside me snickering as well. My eyes follow Potter as he takes a step toward the blond boy. "Give it here, Malfoy."

"No. I think I'll leave it somewhere for Longbottom to find." I roll my eyes as Malfoy climbs on his broom and flies into the air. My, God. Why don't boys know how to listen? "What about on the roof? What's the matter, Potter? Bit beyond your reach?"

Potter grows angry and climbs onto his broom. Granger protests against it, but he doesn't listen and flies into the sky to meet Malfoy. It looks like they talk for a moment before Potter tries to take the rememberal. Malfoy dodges and throws it, hard. Potter proceeds to zip past the blond boy, just barely managing to catch the object before it hits a window. I purse my lips and hang back with Blaise, Crabbe, and Goyle as the rest of the students run toward Potter, cheering him on.

All of a sudden, my eyes land on Professor McGonagall, causing me to smirk a little. The woman calls for Potter. "Harry Potter? Come with me."

"You have got to be kidding me? They made him a seeker?" I gape in bewilderment as I walk beside Eleanor back to the common room. Our last class just ended and supper isn't for another hour so Eleanor decided to head back to the dormitory for the time being. The girl beside me nods, her dark brown hair falling into her face.
