*Y/N*
"Yelena?"
It's been a couple weeks since everything with Yelena started to go south. Kate's party never was addressed and once you finally had the chance to talk to Yelena right before the mission, she blew you off. Ever since she shot you, she has actively avoided not just you but everyone else in the tower. In the last few days you have heard her leave her room and talk a little with the others, but she has made no effort to see you or respond to any of your attempts to talk in weeks. So to say her coming into your room this morning with a cup of coffee in hand was surprising, is an understatement.
"Y/n."
"What are you doing here?" Yelena hesitantly makes eye contact with you as she raises the mug in her hand and gestures toward it, like coming into your room with a cup of coffee was the most obvious thing for her to be doing right now.
"I brought you coffee." She places the coffee on your bedside table as you stay frozen in your bed, simply watching her move about your room. She decides to make her way to the other side of your bed and sit on the corner diagonal from you, facing toward you. This way she is looking at you but still keeping her distance.
What the hell is going on right now? I mean I wanted her to talk to me but now that she is here, it's really weird.
"I see that.. But why did you do that? Why are you in my room right now? I thought we came to this unspoken mutual agreement that you are done with me and now we avoid each other until I move out."
Yelena visibly frowns at your words before straightening up and plastering a look that lacks all emotion onto her face. "I never signed this agreement you are talking about, y/n. I never said I wanted that to happen."
"You don't sign unspoken agreements. They just are what they are." You shake your head and return your eyes to Yelena. "So then why are you in my room? I'm sure it's not to talk to me since you have been avoiding me for weeks now."
You don't really shy away from confrontation or tough conversations. A part of wearing your heart on your sleeve and always being open to share your emotions means sometimes the emotions you share are anger and frustration. Both emotions that are flowing through you as you sit across from the person who continually takes your feelings and relationship with her and bulldozes over it with seemingly no regard to how it will impact you.
"I'm here to check on you. To see how you are doing after everything?"
"To see how I am doing? How I'm doing regarding what exactly? To see how I am after your little monologue at Kate's party or after I was in a coma... again? And why now? You had days to talk to me after the party and you still avoided me. I tried extending an olive branch before the mission and you completely blew me off. So why now are you all of a sudden wanting to talk to me?"
Yelena's eyes drop, unable to look at y/n. She tries to speak but her voice comes out small, apologetic as she stays focused on her lap. After seeing Yelena's reaction to their words, y/n takes a few deep breaths trying to compose themselves enough to answer her question.
"Physically, I am fine. Obviously being shot and then put in a coma isn't exactly the epitome of health, but I'm physically all healed now. I no longer feel any pain or anything. So you don't have to sit here and pretend like you care about me anymore or feel guilty about anything."
"I'm not pretending, y/n."
"Ok, Yelena. Whatever you say. I'm fine though. Thanks for the coffee, but we don't need to do this."
What is the point of this? She hasn't hardly looked at me in WEEKS let alone talked to me. So why is she in here with a cup of coffee acting like we are fine? Acting like everything that has happened these last few weeks isn't worth talking about.
