CHAPTER 13 - REMEMBER ME?

ANNELISE'S POV
This could not be happening.
None of this was what I expected or what I had foreseen.
And its making my blood boil by the minute.
The more I tried, the more closer Astrid and Hiccup got.
Nothing I did seemed to work.
I was the one that told the Savages that the dragons had been sent away and that they could use Toothless as leverage for Astrid.
I knew who Astrid was before I came here and I knew I had to get her away from Hiccup, which was why I told the Savages about her.
I didn't know it meant that everyone would want to protect her even more.
It was me that had thrown eel venom all over the dragon nip.
Everything that had been going wrong was me, because I needed to separate the two love-sick puppies.
But everything I tried, failed.
"Temper is not a good trait..." Someone said behind me and I turned my head to see Alva seated on a boulder, stroking an eagle that was perched on her shoulder.
"What would you know?" I replied, evilly and she laughed.
"Everything..."
"Look...if you've come to gloat, then save it. I'm trying to break them up but its proving impossible, because the two of them are practically made for each other!" I cried as I kicked the sand in frustration. I was on Thor's beach and it was late so no-one would see me as everyone would be asleep. "I can only put up with it for so long! I need to use magic!" I begged and Alva shook her, standing up on the boulder and looking at me.
"There are many ways you can go at this, but magic is not one of them. There is always a price to pay when you use magic, and sometimes it can be your own life..." Alva warned and I rolled my eyes.
"I'll take my chances." I walked towards her.
"No!" She waved her hand and I flew backwards, landing in the sand, face down. I lifted my head, groaning as I looked at her.
"That was uncalled for..." I moaned as I stood up.
"Magic is a last resort..." She repeated sternly and I sighed.
"Well...what am I supposed to do then?"
"You are trying to end things between Hiccup and Astrid by using a third-party to get in between them. That will never work, especially if they are made for each other like you said..."
"Then what do I do?" I repeated and Alva jumped down from the boulder and released the eagle, which cawed as it flew up into the sky.
"Make them see that they might not be the greatest match after all. Make them see that even though they have a passion and lust for each, if something more important to both of them is endangered, they will see that their relationship isn't as solid as they would like to believe..."
I nodded, because I knew what this meant I had to do.
As Alva walked away and disappeared, I turned to the sea and smiled.
