"I know you're unorthodox, Yami, but I didn't expect you to confront that kid like that," Bryn chuckled as they walked through the halls, their hands braced on the back of their head.

"Well, I suppose we should go get our recruit, then," Finral said with a weak chuckle of his own.

The trio made their way down to the main level of the arena, and started to look through the examinees as they filtered out.

"Can you sense where this kid is, Bryn?" Yami grumbled.

"It's not exactly easy to sense where a lack of mana is when there's so much moving around," Bryn returned, "And, ya know, they've been kept in the open floor of the arena most the day. Maybe the kid had to go to the bathroom."

"Whatever. He better be quick, then."

Quick, to at least Yami's standards, the boy was not.

"You got a lot of nerve makin' me wait like that, newbie. Just how long was this dump you took anyway?" Yami almost growled.

"Man, Captain, you wouldn't believe it! Seriously. Like, long. Yeah! And huge, too!" The boy started to explain, only for Yami to grip his head like earlier in the day.

"That is not what I meant when I asked how long it was!" Yami scolded as he lifted the boy off the ground by his head, "Like I wanna spend my time chattin' about your turds, moron!"

"Yami, don't go and break him already. He hasn't even met the others yet," Bryn sighed as they gently shook their head.

Yami let out a sigh of his own,

"Go on, Finral."

"Okay," Finral said simply as he opened his grimoire and made a portal that would lead to the Black Bulls' Hideout.

"Woah, how cool! What is that?"

"Obviously you can't fly a broom. So you're gonna have to learn some kinda movement spell ta get around. Oh, right, you don't have any magic power!"

Yami then let out a laugh as the boy continued to squirm in his grasp.

"Um, excuse me, Yami. This is a pretty sizeable gate to keep open for so long. Could ya hurry up and go through already?" Finral asked, his strain starting to show in his voice.

"It almost sounded like you were tellin' me what to do," Yami said coldly, glaring at Finral, "Suck it up. Dig deep and push your limits."

Finral let out a panicked sound while Bryn let out the first laugh they had all day.

"Sounds like you need to work on sustaining your spells by Yami's opinion," Bryn laughed as they stepped towards the portal, "Don't let him break the kid before he shows up, hmm?"

However, once Bryn was on the other side of the portal, the saw the kid sail through the portal and land on his face.

"What, did Yami just throw you through?" Bryn asked, squatting down beside him.

"Maybe," Yami said simply as he walked through the portal as well.

"Isn't Magna supposed to be the one to thrash the kid tonight?" Bryn asked, standing back up.

"So?"

"Whatever," Bryn sighed out as they started to walk towards the front door to the Hideout.

They then held the door open, looking back at the three guys,

"Y'all comin' in, or what?"

The boy ran forward eagerly, stepping confidently through the threshold,
