"are we going to sit in the car all day or going inside?" Jensen asked, not impressed he had been demoted to shotgun.

Cass had insisted they took his car, not only for the car seat but Ransom didn't know who it belonged to.

Her hands still gripping on the wheel. She just started at the mansion Infront of her. Why did she agree for Harlan to meet Chloe? This was going to be so hard to explain to her.

Chloe didn't know anything about her family except her father wasn't worth knowing. She was going to have to know soon, seen as Harlan kept writing cheques to set her up for life. She had enough to go to college, buy a fancy house and anything else she could ever dream of.

"Cassandra May Ackles" Jensen shouted pulling her out of her daze. She blinked a few times to make sure this was all real and not a dream. "The longer we sit her the more chance of him showing up" he explained. It was true, at least in the house Cass and Chloe could hide.

She sighed getting out of the car, Jensen unbuckled Chloe and walked with her hand in hand.

Cass couldn't help but smile, Jensen was the perfect father figure to her. Even being in the delivery room, letting Cass break his hand by squeezing it too tight.

Before she could knock, the door was pulled open. A moody fran stood behind, she must be dying for a hit by the look on her face. With out a word Cass slipped into the house with her family.

Her and Fran never did get on. Harlan sat in the parlour, a fresh pot of tea and a full cake stand in front of him on the table. He smiled seeing his granddaughter for the first time. "Make yourself at home!" He announced.

Chloe hung on to Jensen as if her life depended on it, almost crawling on to his lap when they sat on the couch. "Clo, this is Harlan, your grandad" Cass introduced them. Chloe wasn't usually shy around people but she wasn't good in unfamiliar surroundings.

Her eyes kept darting from her mother to a cake that sat on the stand. Harlan chuckled, "go ahead my dear", she looked at her mother again for approval. Cass nodded watching her daughter devour the cake, like some starved animal.

"I appreciate this Cassandra" Harlan thanked her, "we're all family, including you Jensen". Harlan was always kind and generous to everyone. Including his family who were taking full advantage of his kind nature.

Oh but Harlan liked to be dramatic, he had it all planned out. His family were going to get what was coming to them.

It took a few minutes but Chloe warmed up to Harlan, telling him all about kindergarten as she sat next to him.

Cass smiled holding Jensen's hand. His thumb smoothing over hers. She had never seen her daughter so chatty with a stranger.

Her happiness was cut short but a voice yelling at the dogs.

"Shit!" Cass cursed under her breath, quickly grabbing Chloe's hand. "Chloe were going to play hide and seek. And I know the best hiding place!" She announced dragging her daughter out of the room.

Jensen stood there stunned, what the hell was he suppose to do? He didn't know he way around like Cass did. Plus it was too late, Ransom just walked thought the door.

'God he looks like a prick' Jensen thought to himself, the picture you painted in his mind perfectly displayed in front of him.

"And who the hell are you?" Ransom asked, squaring up to Jensen trying to look intimidating. Jensen just smiled to himself, being a bouncer in a popular night club nothing phased him.

Harlan cleared his throat "Ransom my boy, this is Dean the new Gardner" he explained. Hang on Gardner?!?

Ransom looked him up and down, a look of disgust on his face. "I'll be in the study" he growled, leaving just as fast as he arrived.

Jensen and Harlan looked at each other before bursting into laughter. "You best go find Chloe. My bet is she is hiding in the passage in the library and Cassandra is under the bed in the guest room" Harlan guessed.

"Under the bed? I expected more from her" Jensen chuckled, he knew wha a clever and devilish mind Cass had. Now he had met Harlan he can see where she got it from.

Harlan placed a hand on his shoulder "Oh Jensen, don't underestimate her" he explained leading the way

It took Jensen over fifteen minutes to find the secret passage in the library, of course Chloe was gutted that she had been found. On to Cass, They made it to the guest room. Jensen got on his hands and knees to check under the bed. Nothing.

Harlan laughed at his confused look. Jensen started pulling open doors and wardrobes looking for her. She as definitely in the room, he could smell the perfume he bought for her birthday.

Harlan walked to the foot of the bed, running his hand over the smooth wood. Pushing down on a secret button. "Jensen do you mind pulling this out for me?" He questioned stepping aside. Jensen raised a brown, gripping on to two wooden handles that magically appeared.

He pulled, revealing a secret compartment under the bed, and Cass. "Wow mum it was like a magic trick!" Chloe shouted clearly impressed. "Damn you found me" she smirked knowing full well it was Harlan.
