"A demon, Miss. It eats people that have Marechi blood flowing in their veins like you, so I suggest that you carry wisteria flowers like these everywhere you go," he says, holding out a bag which what you assumed contained the flowers he was talking about.
You opened the bag slightly and closed it again, putting it in your pocket. "Okay, I need more than just 'a demon, Miss.' Come on man, that guy tried to kill me," you say, needing more than a short answer.
The man walked near you, towering over your 5'2 foot tall self with his 5'9 foot tall figure.
"Man eating demons lurk everywhere, Miss. Most of them use Blood Demon Arts, a powerful technique more superior than any technology developed since the Heian Period. It is now the Taisho Period and the only way demons like them can be killed is by sunlight, wisteria poison poisoning, and a very special kind of blade called nichirin like the one I had just used."
You blinked, "hah? It's now the Reiwa Period, the heck you mean?" you ask.
The man furrowed his brows, "Reiwa..? No, it's the Tais-"
"Man, don't kid me. Take a look outside," you tell him, dragging his arm out from the gap you had just come from to show the buildings reflecting with lights in the night.
Giyuu's eyes sparkles, his mouth was wide open. "What the hell..?" he asks himself.
You felt a chill run down your spine as Giyuu pushed you down, hearing his sword clang with what you guessed was also another sword.
"Tomioka-san, how daring of you..."
Your brows knitted together, 'Shinobu?'
You looked up, seeing a butterfly patterned haori. 'I guessed right.'
Giyuu pointed his sword at his fellow Pillar, "she is no demon, Kocho. Trust me, she couldn't even finish that demon I just killed," he says, making you pout. "Am I really that weak? I guess rehab had no fucking effect," you say, crossing your arms.
Giyuu pushed you behind him, his guard still up. "Though I really like the way you carried that gun, you should always carry one with you at all times to keep yourself safe.
Listen to me, that lady is no joke. She thinks you're a demon because of the demon's blood sprayed on you. I need you to explain yourself for me as a witness, and she'll help you get over that trauma," he says calmly.
You hid your blush but still agreed.
"H-Hello..." you say, standing up behind Giyuu and putting up a shy act.
Shinobu waved at you with a close eyed smile, "hello~ can I have your consent to kill you?" she asks.
You flinch, "I-I'm sorry..?"
You knew she was a sweet psycho but this was a bit too much, even an assassin like you had chills run down your spine.
Her presence was something you had never felt.
Her bloodlust was amazingly heavy, even just a small glimpse from her cloudy eyes can make even you drop your gun.
So this was the Insect Pillar.
Shinobu lunged at you again but you got carried by Giyuu as he flees with you in his arms, "don't look down, you'll get scared," he says, jumping up roof tops and such.
Shinobu caught up of course, but not when Giyuu broke through a glass window to get away from Shinobu.
You had pointed to where your house was after he had asked where you lived and dropped you by your window.
Giyuu came inside with you with his sword still in his hands, his guard never let down as he expects the Insect Pillar at any moment.
"So, uh... Are you actually real Demon Slayers..? I still can't seem to believe all this yet," you say, rubbing your stomach that was feeling a little fuzzy mixed with an unexplainable ache from your surgery.
Giyuu looked at you, "yes, we are Demon Slayers. You didn't seem that surprised to see that demon earlier, have you perhaps seen different ones?" he asks, making you shake your head in disagreement. "Never have I seen a demon. In fact, that was my first encounter," you say.
Giyuu sat down with you on your bed, sheathing his blade, "why is it that you carry a gun with you?" he asks.
You purse your lips, "my mother and father are police officers and are licensed with guns that are only used when needed. I'm around 19 already and I took a college course for Criminology. It's hard I'll have you know that, but I bet your training is much more than that," you say, pointing to your school uniform that was hanged up on your clothesline.
Giyuu furrowed his brows, "Criminology?" he asks.
You nodded, taking out your fake ID as a student in Criminology. "Yup, I'm training to be a Police," you smile.
Giyuu hands you back your license and walks a few steps forward, later on pointing his sword at you.
"You're lying."
You raise your hands in defeat, having a smile come up to your lips. "I'm not surprised you found out so quickly, Tomioka Giyuu," you reply.
Giyuu pushed you to the wall, his blade up to your neck. "How do you know my name?"
You shrug, "lucky guess."
Giyuu pushed his blade a bit more to touch your neck, "there's no way it's just a guess."
You rolled your eyes and raises your hands in defeat, making Giyuu withdraw his blade from your neck. "Now, I need an explanation."
"Look, I'm surprised that you can get the truth out of a spy who's supposed to keep everything secret but I'll try to put a simple explanation for you.
"Everyone— well, not everyone that's for sure but some people know about your life and not only yours. They know about the Pillars' lives before they became Demon Slayers, and not only the Pillars but Kamado Tanjiro-"
Giyuu held up his hand, making you stop mid-sentence. "What do you mean by everyone knows of our lives?" You shrug, "just wait for the grand finale, damn..."
You walk over to your television and turn it on, putting it on Netflix and playing Demon Slayer on screen, letting the rest happen as the show ended after a day.
Giyuu couldn't believe what he saw, given that the once black screen showed him literally Tanjiro's whole story after turning black once more.
"So... what did I just see?" Giyuu asks, rubbing his red eyes. You chuckled, "y'all are famous. It's like this story that shows what Tanjiro had gone through since the start," you explain.
Giyuu rubs his tired eyes, "since I have no idea where I am, I have no choice but to trust you and your words."
You smile, "good!"
You kicked him down to your bed by his chest and put the blankets over him. Giyuu coughed at your kick, "now go to sleep, I'll go get my futon and I'll sleep on the floor," you say, walking to your walk-in closet and taking out a futon and some new blankets.
Giyuu sighed and looked at you preparing your beddings on the floor. "Why are you so nice yet aggressive? I am nothing but a stranger whom you've met last night yet you took me in," he says.
You scoffed and took off your shirt, leaving you with your bra and shorts on. "I'm nice to whoever's nice to me. And you were nice enough to save me from that bitchy Kocho," you reply, taking the AC remote and turning it on.
You then went to close the windows and turn down the blinds.
Then, you snuggle in with your blankets and put the remote on your bedside table. "And who knows?" you continue, making Giyuu blink.
"Maybe God has a great and overwhelming future ahead for me," you tell him with a smile.
