"Damn, that's cold, Collin."

"I hate to rush off, but Jackie is waiting for me."

"Jackie! Ye're feckin' Jackie?"

"Liam! Sorry, Peter. His mouth always outruns his brain."

"I will see you guys tomorrow." Peter left the motel room, shaking his head. He took his time getting to her room to give her a few more moments to get ready.

When he reached her room, her door was open, and she was waiting for him. Her hair was pinned into a loose bun with a few loose strands hanging around her face and neck. She had changed into a low-cut red dress with a flowing, knee-length skirt, and a pair of red open-toed heels. It took him a few seconds to catch his breath. "Bozhe moi!" Jackie laughed at his exclamation. "Milaya moya, you are beautiful!"

She walked over to where he stood in the doorway and kissed his cheek. "Thank you."

"You have absolutely no intention of making this easy for me, do you?"

"Nope." She smiled, wrapped her arms around his shoulders, and kissed him affectionately.

The kiss quickly became too much for him, and he put his hand on her face and pulled away. "Jackie, please. This is not as easy for me as you presume, especially with you wearing that dress." He ran his free hand down her bare back to accentuate his point.

"Alright, I'll be good. It's a pity, though. I bought this no smudge lipstick, just for you." She gave him a sexy pout.

"Jackie, you are the devil." She laughed at his awkwardness. "Are you sure you can walk to the restaurant in those shoes?"

"Not a problem."

"Alright. I feel a little under-dressed, though. I should grab my jacket on the way out." He took Jackie's hand and led her from the room.

They had to stop at Collin's room to get a key because Han had taken his with him. Liam answered the door, then whistled. "Damn, Jackie! Ye are..."

"Move, Liam." Collin pushed Liam out of the way before he could be an idiot but stopped short at the sight of the beautiful young woman. He cleared his throat and replied, "Wow, you look amazing!"

Jackie smiled, glanced up at Peter, then answered, "Thank you, Collin."

Peter unconsciously pulled her closer to him. "I forgot to get my key from you, and I need to get something from my room."

"Oh, sorry, Peter. Hang on just a minute." He disappeared into the motel room.

Liam stepped back up to the door. "Hey, Jackie, ye should stop by and feckin' see me later, so I can feckin' help ye out of that dress."

She smiled at him, took a step closer, placing her hand on his face, and said, "Liam... not if you were the last man on earth." She tapped his cheek, took her place at Peter's side, and wrapped her arm around his waist. "Besides, I'm sure Peter will be entertaining me, long after you go to bed."

Collin came back to the door, pushing a shocked Liam aside. "Here you go. You two have a good time and be careful."

"Thank you." Peter turned from the room and headed a few doors down. "Did you have to be suggestive with Liam?" His voice was very disapproving.

"I'm sorry, Peter. I didn't mean anything by it. I just wanted to get him back for saying that in front of you. I knew it would hit him where it would hurt the most."

Peter chuckled as he opened his door. "It shut him up, that is for sure. I do not think I have ever seen him dumbstruck before." He grabbed his jacket, put it on, and they headed off to the restaurant.

Jackie had a wonderful time, and the food was amazing. The restaurant had a band and a small dance floor, so after they ate, Peter asked her to dance. He held her close, and she placed her head on his shoulder. She lost all aspect of time, and before she knew it, the place was closing.

The night had gotten chilly, so Peter made her put his jacket on for the walk back to the motel. "Thank you, Peter... for tonight. I told you that it had been a long time since I had been on a real date, but that isn't exactly true." She stopped walking and turned to look at him. "This is the first date I've ever been on.

When I would go out, it was usually to a party or a club, and there was always an unspoken expectation of sex. It never really bothered me, because I was just as eager as my date. I guess it stems from how young I was when I started, and the environment I was in. A college guy can't exactly take his fourteen-year-old girlfriend out for dinner, you know?"

He raised his hand to her face. "Jackie..."

She grabbed his hand and backed away. "Don't! Please, don't look at me that way!" She panicked, turned, and walked away, calling over her shoulder, "I have to go."

He realized the expression he was wearing, and what he had done. "Jackie! Jackie, wait!" He ran after her, catching up easily. He spun her around and locked her in a crushing hug. "Forgive me, milaya moya, please! I am sorry. I told you that you could not tell me anything that would change what I feel for you and I meant it. I was just shocked at how young you were."

Jackie pulled away and considered his terrified face, saying, "I was not a normal fourteen-year-old, Peter. I was in college. I had the same screwed up hormones they had, a nearly fully developed body, and the mind of someone at least twice my age. That reaction is the reason I don't talk about my past."

"I know. I know. Please, forgive me!"

She could still see the fear in his face. "Peter, why do you look frightened?"

"Because I am afraid that I may have ruined things between us."

Jackie wrapped her arms around him. "Don't be silly, Peter. I just... it's hard for me when people look at me like that. I couldn't take it if you saw me that way. I don't need people to feel sorry for me, especially you."

He pulled away to look at her face. "I did not mean it that way, milaya moya. I know you are different, that is why I love you. For most, they are still children at fourteen. It is difficult to see someone so young as anything else. You are not typical, and I should not think of you in that regard. I was wrong to react that way. I am sorry."

"It's alright, Peter. I get it, it's just..." she sighed, then continued, "I don't want anything to change the way you see me... the way you look at me. You make me feel special like I belong."

"You are special." He pulled her into him, and his lips met hers. He lost himself in that kiss for a long moment, and she was reluctant to let him pull away and end it. He pulled her into a hug and whispered, "You will always belong here, by my side, and I will never let you forget it." He held her for a while, before he stepped away, took her hand in his, and they walked back to the motel together.
