What was the most scariest and important events to happen when you're dating someone? First dates? Sex? Marriage? Pregnancy? It varies from person to person depending on who they're dating. For me though, the scariest event is meeting the damn parents. I don't know what's scary about it other than meeting the people who brought your boyfriend into this world. The same people who raised your significant other to be the person that they are today.

You're meeting the parent or couple who your significant other looks up to. The people who will also become your family if your relationship decides to go further than that. Right now our relationship wasn't near that point, so I didn't have to worry bout that. Regardless though, meeting the parents was scary as fuck.

I should know since I was about to meet Montana's entire family today. I leaned against Montana car, staring at the two story, cream and grey colored house. A banner with the words Happy Birthday Liam was on the house along with Paw Patrol balloons. My nephew also loved that puppy tv show. I seen it a few times when I used to babysit him and I didn't like that show whatsoever.

It was cute and all but why was there only one girl dog out of the many boy dogs? Maybe I was reading into it too much. I still didn't like the show though cause it was quite annoying. I turned around quickly once I heard the door shut. Montana walked around the car with two bags of ice in his hands.

"Is today your nephew birthday?" I asked him.

"Nah. His birthday was last month but we're having a party today for him." He answered, putting the ice bags on the ground.

"Oh okay."

"Are you good now?" He questioned, I tucked in my lips crossing my arms.

During the entire hour ride over here, I'd been panicking my ass off. I kept asking him questions about his family and how they acted. I wanted to know just about any and everything regarding his relatives. I wanted to know if he had any beef with any of his cousins. We're any of his uncles perverts? We're any of his family members colorist? I know his people were dark skin but a lot of dark skin folks despised their very own.

He reassured me that I didn't have anything to worry bout. But, I was still hesitant and scared about the whole thing. You could never be one hundred percent sure.

"I don't know, Montana. I'm nervous." I told him. He nodded his head, walking towards me.

He caught me off guard when he cuffed my face, squishing it. I furrowed my brows at him, confused as fuck. He started laughing then pressed his lips against mine.

"All better. Let's go." He said, my mouth dropping open. He picked up the bags of ice and started walking up the driveway.

I tucked in my lips, watching him leave me. He didn't help with my nerves not one bit with his selfish ass. His girlfriend is beyond scared to meet his family and he left me.

"Bring ya ass!" He shouted. I smacked my lips, throwing a small temper tantrum. Once I got myself together, I sluggishly made my way up the driveway to him.

I walked inside the house behind him, shutting the door. I looked around the house as we headed down some pathway. There were pictures on the grey painted walls, I was able to make out a couple of them. It was portraits just like the one Montana had at his place. The farther we walked, the less people that were in the picture. The very last one on the wall was just his mother and father. I guess as times went by, Montana and his siblings stopped being in family portraits.
