Carter leads otis to kelly the man having been talking with her and shay finding out that they needed a 3rd roommate.
"Fire away otis" carter instructs, "severide, hey" otis says, "hey, what's up, otis?" kelly asks, "nothing, I was just talking to shay and carter, told me the good news" otis explains, "good news?" kelly asks, "your new apartment, sounds tight" otis comments, "oh, yeah, thanks" kelly says, "yeah, no, problem, shay and carter did say it was a three-bedroom, and you guys might be looking for a third roommate to, uh defray the costs" otis explains, "they said that?" kelly asks, "I just said we might end up looking for one but it wasn't definite" carter defends, "hey! yo, otis! we agreed we were gonna to him together" cruz calls out as he walks over with mouch, "why do you even need a new place, Cruz? your apartment isn't bad" otis argues, "you spend a night in my neighborhood, lulled to sleep by gunfire!" cruz argues, "you try living two doors down from my mother" otis fires back, "now, severide, carter, this is exactly the kind of drama you won't have to deal with if you choose a mellow, mature roommate" mouch defers, "mouch as great as you are and as much as I love and appreciate you, I don't think you wanna share an apartment with a lesbian who's in the dating game again and a couple who go at it at least once a week if not more" carter reasons, "guys, it's just an apartment, you haven't even seen the place" kelly justifies, "I can come by right after shift" otis offers, "me too" mouch copies, "listen, this isn't cheerleader tryouts, you guys need to work this out amongst yourselves" kelly instructs, "chief! hey! you got a minute?" carter calls out, "just the one" boden muses, "hey, we know who our arsonist is" kelly reveals, "who?" boden asks, kelly leads him to the picture on the wall just before the entrance to the bullpen and points out hadley, "hadley? no way, I'm not buying it" boden disagrees, "look, we don't want to believe it ourselves, but we got a real bad feeling about this" carter explains, "my old man, he wants to take it to arson, but he'd like to get your blessing first" kelly explains, "you got any proof?" boden asks, "no, but we" kelly tries to explain but boden doesn't allow it, "look, I had my issues with the man, but he's a fire fighter and a good one, so you want to accuse him of starting fires, you'd better have more than a bad feeling" boden warns, the alarm wails, "squad 3, Ambulance 61, car in water, 330 west lower wacker" the alarm announces sending the two lieutenants running. 
Kelly jumps out the back of squad in his diving gear as carter joins him in a life vest.
"Driver lost control and barreled right through the guard rail" the cop explains, "anyone come up?" carter asks, "not since I got here" the cop says, "how many in the vehicle?" kelly asks, "no idea" the cop says, the rest of squad join their lieutenants and clarke sets a line up with carter's assistance as she attaches it to kelly's suit so the man can pull his scuba mask on before diving in, "give him a tug" capp prompts after kelly hasn't surfaced yet, "be prepared to go in capp" carter instructs as clarke tugs the line, "something's wrong lieutenant" capp says, "try him again" carter instructs as she looks at shay, "rope's caught on something" clarke says as he gives the rope a firm pull and pulls it up quickly finding it'd been cut, "he's off line, damn it!" clarke announces, capp dives in and moments later emerges with the victim and kelly, gabby and shay start working on the man, "shay, grab me the monitor" gabby instructs, "what happened down there? you okay?" capp asks kelly, "yeah, I'm fine" kelly confirms. 
Carter stands out on the apron with benny as kelly goes to check if mills is comfortable with benny being in the firehouse.
"Heard from kelly you went to new york, visited a firehouse there, what's nyfd like?" benny asks, "It was cool different to 51 but my dad has a good house he always has done. He'll never get me away from the CFD he's got my brother as his NYFD legacy" carter says as kelly walks out with mills, "where I come from, you get in a fight, you shake each other's hands afterwards and you put it behind you, I can do that if you can" mills explains holding his hand out, benny shakes the former candidates hand, "I like you, kid, you remind me of" benny says, mills cuts him off before he can finish his sentence, "this doesn't make us buddies, just find the son of a bitch who torched my mom's diner, okay" mills instructs, kelly takes carters hand and the two show benny to bodens office, "please tell me why you think I should give you my blessing to investigate kevin hadley" boden asks, "there's a well-established psychological profile for fire fighter arsonists, and hadley fits it to a tee, they tend to be white and male, they come from broken homes" benny explains "hadley's father abandoned them when he was 13" kelly clarifies, "they're usually unmarried, they lack stable interpersonal relationships" benny finishes, "I mean, chief, you saw the way he blew everything up around here" carter says, "benny, you're talking about half the fire fighters I know, including you" boden says, "chief, it's hadley right down the list" kelly insists, "so you think he's motivated by anger over getting kicked out of 51?" boden asks, "you told him he wasn't worthy of this house, so he's trying to prove you wrong show you that he's smarter than you are, and he isn't going to stop until someone's dead" benny explains, "chief, you should know that we, we confronted hadley about this" kelly admits, "really? what'd he say?" boden asks, "he said, prove it" carter recalls, the four walk out to the apparatus floor.
