It had been a month since Destiny's comeback to Youtube and just as usual, she dominated the platform. She was in Los Angeles for a Verzuz match between Mario & Omarion and was sitting in the VIP section with Allyiah and a few other acquaintances.

"Can I get you ladies anything to drink?" A staff person came up to Destiny, smiling and awaited her answer. "Two Champagne Cosmos please and thank you." She handed over the drink menu to him and although the opening act was questionable, the two stil stayed for the main part. Especially since Jeremih was supposed to be performing as well and she loved his music.

"Am I that drunk that they sound like this right now? Please tell me I'm that drunk." Allyiah side eyed the stage then looked towards Destiny whose facial reaction was priceless at that moment. "I wish we were that drunk. Let's just head out because...I can't."

The two girls grabbed each other's hands and snuck out of the venue to the back where Destiny had parked her car. "Drake's having some get together at The Nice Guy, you wanna go?" Allyiah asked as they got into the car, Destiny debating whether or not she was too tipsy to drive safely or not.

"We can go but, we gotta Uber because I'm not in the position to drive." Destiny leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes, she honestly would rather be at home, in her pajamas under the covers in complete darkness with a jazz album playing but she wasn't going to let her tiredness stop her from having a good time.

Not even twenty minutes later they arrived at the nightclub, thankfully it was a more lowkey get together and much more both Destiny and Allyiah's speed. "Let's find a spot then go be socialites." Allyiah walked with Destiny to a booth where no one was sitting, a few minutes later a waiter came up to them.

After they ordered some water and appetizers to put some food on their stomachs, Allyiah got up and starting mingling with some people, prompting Destiny to do the same. She decided to just sit at the bar and talk with whoever was sitting next to her but once she made her way there the group of people were engulfed in a conversation with Drake.

"I only like to talk to my camera, I swear people are weird." Allyiah approached Destiny, resting her head on her hand and yawning. Despite not actually doing much that night her social battery was draining fast, and so was Destiny's but they had already spent entirely too long getting ready so they needed to at least get some good pictures.

"Isn't that the guy who gave us waters? He's looking right at you." Allyiah nodded towards Jack and Destiny turned right around, accidentally making eye contact with him. "Destiny. Did I not just say he was looking directly at you, why would you turn around? Be for real."

This time around Destiny could actually see Jack, noticing how attractive he was but this summer was supposed to be all about her, she wasn't going to let him pull anything, even if he did pop up every where she went.

"Oh shit no he's coming over here, I should've minded my business!" Destiny sighed thinking about how she was going to have to politely reject him.

"Is your friend ok?" Jack asked as he approached Destiny, seeming genuinely concerned for her. Allyiah shook her head and laughed under her breath at her friend who's social awkwardness came out of nowhere "She's good. Didn't we meet before?"

Jack took a seat next to the girls, Destiny just went along with the conversation, not saying anything. "Yeah, I was meaning to talk to you that night but never got the chance. Destiny right?" She nodded and he now had her full attention, Allyiah ordered another drink and eavesdropped on the conversation.

"Wouldn't you rather go back to talking to Drake?" Destiny asked, looking at Jack. She was too drunk to drive but not drunk enough to able to converse with randoms without getting annoyed. "We were talking about you, that's why I came over."

Destiny glanced over at her friend who was pretending she wasn't listening to the conversation. Of course, they were probably talking about her dating history—well rumored dating history since she actually hadn't dated anyone in a while. Unbeknownst to her, they weren't. "You don't talk much do you?"

"I'm really not trying to be rude Jack, I just want to go home." She wasn't even paying attention to Jack anymore, instead she watched as Lamelo Ball walked in, they hadn't spoken since their last interaction and the last thing she wanted was to have to talk to him again.

"Don't let me stop you. Go home." Jack was seemingly disappointed with Destiny due to her completely dismissing everything he had said and walked away. He was attracted to her and trying to get to know her but would clearly have to "apply pressure." He started mumbling something to Drake while Destiny and Allyiah quickly grabbed their things to head out.

"Destiny, hey!" She was stopped in her tracks once hearing Lamelo call for her. She sighed and quickly calculated if she could slide out the exit or if it was too far and she had to actually respond. Knowing Lamelo he'd just follow her outside where paparazzi were plus her Uber wasn't even called yet. So she painstakingly turned around, forcing a small smile after remembering last months conversation which had been their last.

"Hey. Didn't realize you were in town." She said, Allyiah right next to her. She had sobered up as soon as she heard his voice and just wanted to be out of the situation. "Got a game against the Lakers, how have you been? I know we left things rocky. I'm sorry." Lamelo had a sense of regret from their last conversation, he knew he wouldn't get another chance with Destiny but he could at least crash any bad blood between the two.

"Makes sense, good luck. I've been fine, just focusing on work. We're good by the way, I think we just have different goals in life at the moment. We can always continue to be friends." Destiny leaned in for a hug then stepped away, walking out of the exit and getting into the Uber that Allyiah had called.

"What was all that about?" Allyiah asked as the two girls sat in the backseat. "Every time I'm in L.A I realize how small it is. What time is our flight?"
