When Christmas rolled around, Tig and Chibs asked for a week or so off so they could go on vacation with their in-laws. Since there was nothing going on with the club and all their associates were happy with them, Clay gave them the go-ahead. Happy wanted to stay with the club but Ava had begged him to come along. He finally sighed and relented making her smile at him. Tig could only laugh at how excited his wife was as she was packing their bags the night before they were set to leave. Ryu had decided to head back to the Colorado resort they'd spent two previous vacations at. He'd ordered dinner so she didn't have to worry about cooking since she was packing for their trip.
"So. What do should we expect?" Tig inquired as he sat on the bed and watched her pack.
"Well, there will be skiing and snowboarding. Snowball fights and snow angel making." She stated, "Hanging out inside the resort with cups of cocoa."
"What about Christmas?" Tig asked.
"Well the resort itself will have a Christmas dinner for everyone. It's always delicious, by the way. Christmas morning, we all meet up in mom and dad's room where they'll pass out gifts to everyone. Any gifts we've bought for others we'll give to mom when we get there so she can distribute them on Christmas morning." Remi explained.
"I see. Sounds fun." Tig said.
"It is. We usually have a lot of fun together." Remi replied with a smile.
"That's good to hear. I'm sure this will be quite the experience for all of us." Tig chuckled.
"Indeed. I'm surprised Elise's doctor has agreed to let her fly as far along as she is." Remi casually stated.
"Think she'll be ok to fly?" Tig asked.
"Well if her doctor says she is then I have no other reason to think otherwise." Remi shrugged.
It didn't take long for her to finish their packing. She was getting hungry so she followed her husband downstairs where they waited their dinner to arrive. He was thankful she had done all the packing for them. Dinner arrived soon after she was finished packing so they sat around the living room quietly eating dinner and watching an old movie on TV. He nodded towards himself after they finished eating for her to cuddle up to him while they watched TV. It made her smile that he wanted to cuddle before bed. Before long, it was time to hit the hay since they were meeting her parents at their house very early the following day so they could get to the airport for their flight to Colorado.
When her alarm went off the following day, she groaned and threw her covers off her. Tig was still snoring as she got up to take herself a quick shower. By the time she was out of her shower and dressed, Tig was still snoring in bed. Shaking him gently, he grunted at her making her laugh. "It's time to get up. We're going to be late, let's go!" she told him before carrying their large suitcase downstairs. He grunted but threw the covers off him so he could get dressed. He'd hoped she was going to make breakfast for them but she didn't as she was busy making sure the house was going to be ok while they were gone. The suitcase was by the front door waiting for them to be ready to leave the house. As they were leaving and heading towards her SUV, her mom called asking where they were at. "We're leaving now. We'll see you guys soon." Remi told her mother as he backed out of the driveway.
It was too early for Happy to be up and out of bed, especially since he was leaving on a trip he didn't even want to go on. They took her car since they had a large suitcase with them. He was surprised they were the first to arrive. Ava was about to grab their bag but he insisted on taking it not wanting to look bad in front of her parents. They were greeted with hugs by both as they entered the foyer. Her parents already had their luggage sitting there waiting on everyone else to arrive before they left. Massika told them Tig and Remi were already on their way and that Chibs and Elise were just about to leave their house. Breakfast was made already and on the table for everyone. Coffee was in the kitchen and she showed Happy where the coffee cups were located. He thanked his mother-in-law before pouring himself and his wife a cup.
