It was a deep, billowing mass of nothingness, its celestial pull enticing me further and further into its ominous abyssal darkness. At the center was a small girl, no more than a child in age, with a strange glint in her eye. Her hair was flowing and ethereal, almost as if it blended into the very stars themselves. But the strangest thing was that she seemed to mouth something, words that I could not make out. And then, black.

I awoke in a cold sweat, gasping for a deep breath as I flung myself up. What was that? A dream? It felt so...real. And whatever it was didn't dismiss its inherently disconcerting nature.

I rubbed my neck. Suddenly my throat felt incredibly dry.

I tossed my sheets aside, shuffling over to the door with light steps as to not wake the others. The moon glimmering brightly in the sky, its piercing light peeking through my window, indicated that it must've been rather late. As I exited the room, I made sure to gently close the door, minimizing the sound I made.

With tired steps, I moved into the living room, still littered with the remnants of my battle with Mark hours earlier. The ice I conjured still hadn't melted, impressing me with its longevity. My eyes gravitated towards the very same couch that he sat on, and I couldn't help but shiver.

I went fairly light on Mark, I won't lie. But those girls...they seemed like entirely different demons. I almost began to pity the poor soul. An arm definitely shouldn't have bent that direction.

But he was away now, locked up in one of many of Piltover's high security prisons. Now, the primary concern was fixing whatever damage resulted from our little entanglement. I tried to limit the destruction, but even then, it was still in shambles.

As I was inspecting the damages, my attention was caught by a lone figure on the balcony, sitting quietly. They were almost completely invisible, without so much of a single sound, if not for the silvery strands of hair poking out from the chair. I stepped closer, entering the balcony myself.

Y/N: "Eve? What are you doing still up?"

Her face was uncharacteristically twisted in apprehension, her brows furrowed together and her slightly agape lips letting loose a breathless sigh. But upon my voice, she immediately broke out of her stupor, turning to me in confusion.

Evelynn: "(Y/N)? I could ask you the same thing."

Y/N: "I got a bit thirsty and went for some water."

It wasn't technically a lie, but it would still be strange to tell her about the dream. The idol raised a brow, however said nothing, and let the matter go, returning her gaze to the Piltover cityscape as she rested her chin upon her palm.

Evelynn: "I see. I could still smell Ahri's perfume from my room, so I came out for some fresh air."

What an obvious lie.

The moment she turned to me, I could see it. A swirling uncertainty, loneliness, and self-loathing, all thrashing about within her, concealed behind the thin curtain of her eyes. I could immediately tell because I, too, once had those eyes.

I wordlessly took the chair next to her, following her listless stare outward. We sat in silence, neither of us daring to break the quiet air, until finally, Evelynn softly murmured to me.

Evelynn: "Shouldn't you be getting back to bed?"

I looked towards her, who was still absorbed by the streetlamps and the few streaking cars still racing through the streets at this time of night. But unlike those fast cars, we were still, unmoving.

It was, to say it lightly, worrying seeing Evelynn without her confident and self-assured demeanor.

Y/N: "Do you want to talk about it?"
