I stirred awake with a pained groan.

Fuck, my head was killing me. I tossed aside my covers and slowly got to my feet, my hand on my head doing its best to ease the pulsating nausea racing through my system. My tired feet shuffled across the floor, bumping into several objects on the ground as a loud clatter noise resounded throughout the bedroom. I looked down and sighed. Several bottles and cans of beers, soju, and various kinds of alcohol were knocked over amidst the sea of liquor.

Right. After coming home from the total disaster that was last night's party, I took to downing intoxicants like there was no tomorrow. And now, I was stuck with this shitty hangover.

Somehow, I managed to carry myself to the bathroom where I sluggishly brushed my teeth and ran through my morning routine. But as I returned to the bedroom, a vibration on my bed stand caught my attention, especially because its infernal sound only exacerbated the sickness in my head.

Y/N: "Shut up please," I mumbled, taking the phone and putting it up to my ear. "This is (Y/N) speaking."

Eun-ji: "Mr. (L/N)! Mr. Jeong has been threatening to take legal action against our company all morning! What did you do last night?!"

I distanced the phone from myself at her sudden volume.

Y/N: "I didn't do anything."

Eun-ji: "You obviously did because he's threatening to sue you in particular. That party was incredibly important to maintain our public appearance to high investors like Mr. Jeong—"

Y/N: "Eun-ji..." I growled, an annoyed tone creeping into my voice.

Eun-ji: "Now the entire company is a wreck trying to fix the mess that YOU made—"

Y/N: "Eun-ji," I said again, this time a little louder.

Eun-ji: "My job has been made several times more diffic—"

Y/N: "Eun-ji!" I shouted, finally fed up. "Don't forget I am your boss. I don't work for you, you work for me, and I can fire you at any time I want. Watch your tone when you talk to me."

Eun-ji: "...My apologies, sir."

I sighed to myself.

Y/N: "No, I'm sorry for yelling like that. It's true, I did make a mistake last night on behalf of the company. Just...give me some time. I'll find a way to fix it."

I ran my fingers through my hair as the consequences of last night's actions began to catch up. Mr. Jeong was an extremely influential person in the Korean business scene, and by suddenly blowing off his daughter like that, no doubt she twisted the story to paint me as the bad guy. Being villainized by someone like him, even if I had more than double his financial assets, would undermine my position with any future business partners. This whole thing was so stupid.

Eun-ji: "Understood. I will talk to Mr. Ji-woo and see if we can work out a list of proposals...and Mr. (L/N)? You should take today off. Just leave it to us."

As much as I wanted to retort that I was perfectly capable of handling the situation myself, the splitting pain in my head very much told me otherwise.

Y/N: "I will then. Thank you. Inform me of any developments."

Eun-ji: "Of course sir."

I lowered my arm and pressed the 'End Call' button on the screen, pocketing my phone. A blazing frustration welled up within me.

Y/N: "FUCK!"

I gripped an empty bottle on the ground and threw it against the wall with all my strength, shattering it into countless shards that collapsed onto the floor. Feeling suddenly sapped, I backed up until my back hit the wall and slid down to a seated position. What the hell was any of this?
