I am so sorry for the long wait on this chapter, I couldn't think of anything to write, but thank you so much for the idea for this chapter. I have slightly changed it a bit but the main idea is still the same.

I also had exams last week so that delayed this chapter even more.

I hope you enjoy!

By the way I have decided to add a new character to the book and wasn't sure how to go about making a chapter on it, so I'm just telling you here. When Anna was 10, Scott and Jimmy adopted a 5 year old girl so Anna now has a younger sister. In this story the sister is now 8.

----------

~5 years later~ (Btw if you aren't keeping track, Anna is now 13)

"Anna! Gem! Dinner's ready!" Scott called out from the kitchen as he set the food on the table while Jimmy placed the plates and cutlery down.

Gemma came running down the stairs, excitedly, and sat down at the table ready to eat.

Jimmy and Scott both sat down in their seats as well, starting to serve up. "Anna!" Jimmy called out, hoping she would come down soon.

Anna slowly descended the stairs, her eyes glued to her phone. Her face suddenly lit up and she began typing something as she sat down at the table. Scott and Jimmy turned to face each other then looked back at Anna.

"Anna." Scott attempted to get her attention.

Her head hesitantly lifted to face him.

"Phone away while we eat please."

Anna gave an annoyed look, then turned to face Jimmy. He nodded, agreeing with his husband. She sighed and switched it off, placing it face first onto the table.

"So, how was school?" Jimmy asked the two, but was immediately shut down by a simple 'fine' from Anna.

Gemma on the other hand was eager to answer. "Great! There was a new student today."

Jimmy smiled towards Gemma, glad she wanted to answer. "That's great, did you introduce yourself?"

Gemma nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, we even became friends."

Scott turned his attention to Anna who had been quiet the whole time. "How about you Anna? Anything interesting happen?"

"No." Anna kept her head down, not looking up.

They soon realized they weren't getting anywhere and decided to leave it at that.

As soon as Anna had finished eating she quickly got up, putting her plate in the sink, then grabbed her phone and walked back to her room, frantically typing on her phone once again.

Gemma took her plate to the sink as well, then ran back to her room after thanking them for dinner.

Jimmy sighed and got up, starting to clear the dishes from the table. "When did she turn into a teenager?" He jokingly asked.

Scott shrugged. "Last month."

Jimmy stopped and glared at Scott while Scott got up from the table, acting like he hadn't done anything. "I didn't mean literally."

Scott walked his plate over to the sink and rinsed it with water, then opened the dishwasher to place it inside, but closed it again when he realized the dishes in there were clean.

"Let me guess, Anna hasn't unpacked it yet?" Jimmy asked with a knowing look towards the dishwasher.

"Nope."

----------

Scott knocked on the closed door and waited for a response, only to receive silence. He gently pushed the door open to reveal Anna laying on her bed with her phone in her hands, typing away happily.

"Anna, please go and unpack the dishwasher."

Anna's smile disappeared as she turned her head to look up at her dad. "The door's shut for a reason, you're meant to knock."

"I did, you didn't answer."

A second later Gemma came running into the room and jumped onto the bed, leaning over Anna's shoulder to see the screen. "Who are you texting? Is it your boyfriend?" She asked mockingly.

"None of your business." She pulled the phone away from her sisters view.

Jimmy walked up behind Scott, deciding to see what was taking him so long.

"I bet it's Lucas." She giggled as Anna's cheeks grew redder.

"Who's Lucas?" Jimmy asked, making his presence known.

Anna angrily glared at her sister before looking back at her dads waiting for a response from the doorway. "No one." She said bluntly.

"It's her boyfriend." Gemma giggled once again while Anna gave her a warning look.

"Do you have a boyfriend Anna?" Jimmy casually asked.

"No! She's just making it up to be annoying!" Anna retaliated.

"Good, you're not old enough yet." Scott announced.

"Dad! I'm 13. I'm officially a teenager, I am old enough."

Scott just ignored her, bringing up the point of why he was there. "Unpack the dishwasher please. Come on Gem." Scott gestured for Gemma to follow.

Gemma stuck her tongue out at Anna before jumping up and following her dads out. Anna just groaned and continued typing on her phone.

She didn't understand why she was classified as 'not old enough' to have a boyfriend. She was a teenager.
