Janus paced back and forth, his wings folding and unfolding slowly. They did agree to meet at five, right? Yeah, no, Saturday at five pm. Well... it's been twenty minutes now and Remus is a no show... It was nice that it lasted for a day, right?
Either he's standing Janus up, or he got into some trouble. Or... a worse thought crossed Janus's mind. He was setting up a trap. If it was that, then they need to get out of here right now.
They turned around to leave when they saw the orc fae flying over. He was alone, which made Janus relax slightly. It was just an intrusive thought, he wasn't going to betray them. At least, not now.
"Sorry I'm late," Remus said as he landed. "I got held up by my brother. He was interrogating me on where I was going, and then tried to get me to have guards. So of course I had to lose them, and it took longer than I expected."
"I was starting to think you stood me up," Janus laughed, pushing back the negative thinking."
"Please, I'd never leave a fine piece of ass like yourself behind."
"Oh, please don't. I've never met a man brave or stupid enough to call me that."
Remus walked closer and leaned in. "Oh I'd love for you to hurt me."
Janus patted his head. "Maybe later if you're good. But that depends on how this date will go."
Dark green stained Remus's cheeks, but he smiled anyway. "So what you're saying is... if I can make the perfect date, you'll fuck me?"
"Oh we're not there yet. But it would be a step closer." Janus walked closer to the edge of the building. "So, what do you have planned for today's date?"
"Uh- well-" To be honest, Remus didn't really have anything planned. He just wanted to meet up with Janus again. "Well... I've only ever seen you with dragon wings! So do you know how to fly with any other kind? Like avion, or even fae?"
"Wait, let me get this straight-"
"Or as straight as you can be," Remus interrupted.
Janus rolled their eyes with an amused smile. "Let me continue-"
"Yes daddy."
The shifter gave him a piercing glare. "You brought me up here for flying lessons?"
"Yup! I take it that means you don't know how to fly with fae wings."
"Why would I want to learn?"
"Oh, are you scared?" Remus teased. "I know our wings look flimsy, but hey, I can outfly you on them any day."
Janus gave him another glare. "Are you sure you should be challenging me?"
"I can give you a little lesson on fae wings, then we can see who's the better natural flier. Well, I guess it won't be fair since I was born to fly. Oh well... if you really don't want to." Remus walked over to the edge of the building, looking down. "I'm sure there's still something fun to do."
"Just tell me how to fly with these damn things already."
Remus turned around to see Janus turned his wings into fae wings. They were golden and the top had bumps on the side, the bottom half pulled out slightly like a butterfly's. They were quite honestly some of the most beautiful wings the halfling has ever seen.
"Oh-" was all he could respond with, choking up a bit. He felt his face burning, but looked away and cleared his throat. "Well, those are a bit different than mine. But I guess you gotta do everything fancy, huh?"
"You know it, darling."
Remus decided to continue looking away, pulling his jacket collar closer to his face. "Uh, w-well-"
"Oh dear, are you flustered?" Janus moved closer, a shit eating grin on their face. "Oh that's so cute, you are so easy to fluster."
"Well I guess you can learn how to fly with those wings on your own," Remus huffed, still not looking at Janus.
"Alright alright, I'll stop teasing. Just teach me how to fly with these."
The gang leader nodded, taking a deep breath to calm himself. "Okay, your wings have to be moving fast. First let's try to get you to hover." He turned around to face the shifter, desperately trying not to let his emotions take control again.
"Like this?" Janus fluttered their wings, making them a yellow blur.
"Alright, lean forward slightly." Remus held his hands out for Janus to take if they needed help steadying themself.
The shifter followed his instructions and their feet slowly raised from the ground. They smiled and looked back, but almost dropped.
"Hey! Look at me," Remus told them, taking their hands. "It's like riding a bike, don't look at your wings, just focus on moving."
"I can tell you that this is nothing like riding a bike. Maybe we shouldn't have done this on a fifty story drop."
"It's more like sixty."
"Not helping." Janus sent him a glare.
Remus just laughed. "Don't worry, I won't let you drop. Besides, we're still above the roof. I'm not gonna let any gust of wind take you away. Now, I don't know how similar this is to flying with those dragon wings, but why don't you try moving around? Just hold your arms out to move forward, and pull them closer to move back. Keep your legs slightly bent."
"I-I got it. It's pretty similar, just different wing movements, and harder to turn." Janus let go of Remus's hands and tried to move back. "See? Not too hard."
Remus flew off of the roof himself. "Alright, then let's see you fly in a circle."
"That should be easy." Janus flew forward, trying to fly at an angle.
"Oh, and don't focus on the height! Vertigo is a huge distraction."
"I flew up here didn't I? Only difference is the wings." The shifter tried not to let the wind push him around. "I have this."
Remus gave them a smile. "Alright then, just let me know when you're ready, then the race can start!"

Black was putting away some papers into a folder before setting it in his briefcase. He closed it up and was about to leave when there was a knock at the door.
"Come in," he said.
Melany peaked her head in with a smile on her face. "Hello!"
"Melany, I'm about to head home for the night. What is it?"
The deer traited walked further in, holding a folder to her chest. "Good news, really good news. So I had some people do some digging on Hunt, and we got plenty of information back." She walked over to the desk and set the folder down, opening it up.
There was a picture of Roman on top of the already heavy stack of papers. He seemed a lot younger than he did in the security tapes, because he was. The caption below it said it was his senior photo from high school.
"So, we have information about his past. Where he went to school, his birthday, his mothers death, a hospital stay. But what I think you will be more interested in is that he has a twin brother named Remus, a nephew, and most importantly, their home address."
Black smiled. "That is indeed good news. Thank you so much for this, Melany. I suppose now we need to start planning for a visit."
